mostly because the CA18 engine is quite old and extracing power from it can be costly. an SR20 equipped S13 will respond to modifications (im only assuming you will mod it) better, plus its the more popular engine - im not going to say its better as i dont want to start THAT argument again lol

good luck finding one however, there are plenty of good ones around. but be patient and dont buy the first one you see.

Getting back to your original question, I would highly recommend you check out this page.

Basically, the S12/S13/180SX/S14/S15 is a chassis code (the same as the VT/VX etc that Holden uses for the Commodore).

Like MAXBOOST and Zei250t said, the CA18DE(T) is a dead-end power-wise. SR20DET is the way to go. With a slightly bigger turbo, intercooler, exhaust and boost controller, you should be able to pull 180rwkw out of an SR.

Add a few more good bits and you'll be making more than 200rwkw. Throw in some forged pistons, swap on a bigger turbo, up the boost and you have an engine good for 250rwkw.

If you want to make much more power than that, you're probably better off getting a Skyline with an RB25/RB26.
