hey guys,

im just wondering roughly how much i will get for my 89' 180sx?
it has a ca with t28, cannon exhaust, 3 puk brass button clutch, nismo 1.5way lsd, hybrid gt fmic kit and a hks style pod filter( not sure if its genuine). interior has some white painted highlights and there are 3 guages mounted on the passanger side in the dash (which i might take out still).

this thursday will be doin a swap with a mate for his silvia front end so colours wont match to well. the car is also fitted with original type x side skirts which will also require some colour.

at the moment it has a blown head gasket that i will be fixing up b4 i let her go. it has a new timing belt and rocker covers and timing cover has been powdercoated and coil pack cover smoothed n half painted aswell

but yeh any help on roughly how much its worth is greatly appreciated...
thanks heaps guys and girls

Sorry to hijack, but would items such as FMIC, upgraded turbo, etc, increase or decrease the value of the car?

Because on one hand I hear it adds value to the car and on the other hand I hear a pure stocker would fetch more.

But if I were to purchase your car pl35me, I'd pay around the 7k mark. Possibly 8k if the paint and head gasket were fixed.

you car isn't worth much more than $4k in it's current condition. with the engine replaced, the swapped panels painted, and the rest being quite clean and tidy, you could expect to get around $10k,but with a blown engine, and mis-matched paintwork, and taking a car like this: http://forum.silviansw.com/viewtopic.php?t=30103 for $7400 into account, you'll struggle to get more.

I disagree fergo. Just the fact that it is an S13, and sil80 makes it worth at least 6-7k alone. Just cos cypher is selling his for much less than it is worth, doesn't mean that is market value

theres an old saying..

Something is only worth, what others are willing to pay..

If no one is willing to pay more than 5g for your car.. then 5g is how much its worth, and it doesnt matter if youve poured 20g into it..

just my opinion anyways..

as is you'd probably be lucky to get 6k
but with a paint and new gasket could get up to 9k if you find the right buyer

I think it really depends on who's buying when you're selling....all of the above opinions should be taken into account too.

You'll always get the keyboard heroes offering you $1000...but at the end of the day, money talks bullshit walks...and first impressions last, so if you've got the time & energy, do what you can to improve your chances of a better sale.

Cheers, Christian.
