Guys,

I am having a problem with my AC..... it can A but it doesn't C anymore. With summer coming around I would like to get this fixed.

What is wrong?? Does the unit need to be regassed? (not sure of the terminology)

Any ideas?

PS. I am talking about my Air Conditioner

you can probably get it regassed, and it costs about $100, if you can find a place that will do it with the old gas... If not, you need to get the compressor seals replaced to convert it to work with the new ozone safe gas... I think it costs about $500 to have the conversion done. If it's leaked all the gas you'll usually only get maybe 6 months out of a re gassing anyway because the seals dry out over time and never work 100%, so the rebuild option can be better in the long run..

check your gas by opening the valve thingy and poke it with your keys...
if it vents out a lot of preasure then theres still gas..

check if your AC compressor is clutching in.
meaning that when your turn AC on the centre of the compressor grabs and spins with the AC..

if not check to make sure that there is signal going to the compressor.

if there is signal then your compressor is f89ked like mine about 2 months ago..

if no signal then that could be your problem..
hope that helps..

i know a place whod do your AC for ya for a good price.
PM me if you want the details... :D
