If you had the money which of these would you get for a sr20 180 and why??

1. Turbosmart type2
2. Blitz (with horn attachment thingy)
3. Apexi

i been thinking about the turbosmart type2 cause its the cheapest and ive heard it before and its nice and loud.. but i havent heard the others but there a bit more expensive so i dont know whether its worth the extra 100 bucks for say the apexi one with the duel chamber ect...
what you guys think ?

go the BLITz.

i got one in my 180 and it sounds sweet.

its the older version though.

its not high pitched. its got a nice loud swooooshhhhh with the trumpet adapter.

i've got mine set a little hard so i get the fluttering noise..
cwhf - cwhf - cwhf - ( loud ) swooooshhhhh :D :D :D

sounds very cool BUT i think i'm gonna find or fabricate an adapter to plumb it back. It attracts too much attention, cops, thieves. etc etc :D

If you are using the stock ECU and AFM wouldnt it be recommended to use a plumback BOV? I use the GFB Hybrid one and its loud enough via the vent (adjustable as well) AND has the plumb back connector as well. This prevents backfiring/idling problems. Turbosmart also have the "Hybrid" model now.

can the GFB hybrid bov be attached so its using the plumback adaptor part aswell as the horn?
so its stopping the backfire and idle problem aswell as let off a nice loud sound ?
or is it one or the other?

By default the Hybrid uses both plumb back and vent. They have just released a new model which lets you adjust how much air you want to vent. Check them out at:

If you are replacing the stock BOV you will need to buy an adapter plate off them too.

With the apexi.. the rings will eventually start gettin loose and it'll spin by it self...
I've heard from a few of my mates that the APexi bov does leak..

Any atmo bov can be plumbed back if you want to do a little bit of facricating yourself. It will still be loud if you make an adapter on the trumpet and put a pipe on it that plumbs back. I have seen this done and it works effectively.

if you want a bit of noise you can also just rip the plumback piping off the stock one, and it makes a rather cool amount of noise.

Unless you're running more than 14 or 15 pound boost though, it's totally pointless to upgrade the BOV, unless of course you're after the cool sounds :-)
