On the CA18.... if i remove the angle sensor and replace it with another one, is it just a slap on job or you have to put it on with the right degree or something?
thanks.

it's gotta be set exactly right, the CAS is what sets your base timing that the ECU calculates from.

you'd need the manual, coz it has to be installed with the gear teeth aligned properly, and then has to be adjusted to the right angle.

You would have to take it apart, rotate the engine manually to top dead center, and then align the timing marks inside the sensor with the pickup.

The ECU will then require resetting as an error code might be displayed.

yep, it'll either run very badly, not at all, or blow up :o

Seriously you really do need to make sure it's installed correctly.

As for resetting the ECU, just disconnect the battery for a few minutes.

I was re-doing the timing on my S13 last night and tightened one of the bolts on the Crank Angle Sensor a little bit to much. SNAP. Luckily I was able to get the snapped off bit out with a pair of needle noise plyers and some CRC. Very slowly though. :P

if you snap the bolts off just use an easy out as the implies its easy all you do is screw it in anticlockwise and it screws out the snaped bolt while it is screwing in
