Sorry to bring this thread up from the dead again but its comming extremely close to time and most of the rims that ive oh-so-desprately wanted, have had wrong offset etc etc.

So if anyone can narrow me down to a link to a 5 spoke 5 x 114.3, 45 offset.. let me know. Or if you know a rim that has those stats. as most website do not show.

I've researched liturally everywhere, tempe, payless tyres, goodspanner, bob jane etc etc, you name it. even the manufacturing sites themselves. but most ones that have almost been a 100% yes they say "sorry wrong offset" :(

Preferably after a bit of dish (doesn't have to be too intense) and either white 5 spoke or shadow chrome. EDIT: and 18"!!

similar style to this but im not a fan of black:

Why do you want +45 offset? it's not a honda.

depending on width, you want closer to +35 or even less.

most local shops are going to be useless for decent wheels, unless you want made in taiwan.

you have a month still right? why not import some from japan?

there are people on here that can do that for you.

If you're really hung up on 5 spoke 40+ offset rims I have an old set of Volk Challenges in silver and blue that are 5stud 114 pattern, 18x9 and +42 offset that I might be persuaded to part with for enough money. Very light, no bullshit, good quality jap rims for clearing massive callipers (probably best for a GTR as they're all the same rolling diameter)

I was plan on getting them reconditioned as they need some love on the outer lips but aside from that in very good order, (last owner parked by braille or was just plain fkn dumb), they are probably entirely unsuitable though for a Silvia

Grant from Otomoto and the other guy at Up Garage, Minto (he looks like Peter Garret) will hook you up with some nice rims at half the price youd pay for Lenso Hectiks

Thanks very much for your help everyone, looking at the white ones on Otomoto..

have checked Musecret, dad is currently finding a price on the 57 pro's, have the different changing coloured lip :)

anyone know if lightweight rims crack easily on potholes? the street i live on god forbid the council will never repair, just keep filling caving-in potholes.. thats my main concern with those.

and so offset doesn't matter? i just bought standard wheel studs for the s15 cause the front have been hacksawed (yes i know nooottt good) but i still have the spacers (only two of them).. but ive heard spacers are illegal?

sorry, here's what we're currently really considering.
he's really nagged down the price, so the guy said they will call back on a "team price" whatever that means!

Not really, but the variables include how often you hit them, how cheap the rims are, how big the pothole is, how small the sidewall on the tyre, how fast you are going and how unlucky you are.

It does matter. Primarily if they are completly wrong you may find the tyre strikes the strut or sits outside the guards. One means the wheel wont turn, the other is a defect and dangerous and if you bottom out your suspension on the top of the rim at speed....well....that wont be fun.

Secondly it matters because some offsets have the wheels sitting well inside the wheel wheels which does not look as good, basically.

Rumour is that slip on spacers are illegal, bolt on ones are legal IF engineered. Its not usually a concern, but why bother? Get a good offset and you wont NEED spacers! Good quality wheels will have good offsets avaliable, so why not pick one that is good and be done with it??

Also, What width are you considering? That again affects what offset would be appropriate.

There is a calculator at
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

If you want to learn a bit about it, wiki is as good a place as any
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offset_(wheel)

Personally Im not a fan of that multicoloured paint, either on cars or on wheels, Id much prefer a simple black or just plain lip but its your car. If you manage to get the width and offset and style of wheel right, you're doing better than most!

Cheers for all that information, Crazeee!
I don't believe the rims are cheap, well we're deffinately looking into musecret at the moment for the gramlite wheels.

the width of the tyre around 8 or 8.5 , i stil lwant steering to be smooth (i know it looks better with a bigger width well i think it does, but my last car, god it was a bitch after a while fighting with the steering wheel!)

i don't want spacers preferably not.. i should have been a bit more specific, offset between 40 - 45. I don't want to go through the hastle of getting legal spacers, or it engineered.. just bolt on and go so-to-speak..

Im not fussed either way with the titanium lip, personally i quite like it, but id be happy with plain (as we're also looking at quite a few other options such as petrol octane rims)

err also looking at these GT RS rims, anyone know if they are 4 or 5 stud, or if they come in 5 stud with the correct offset?

EDIT: cheers for those two links, didnt know an offset calculator existed haha!
