Need to ask more questions so i edited the topic

Ok i've just got the silvia yesterday and one of the bulbs are blown.
How do i take it out?
i can feel ( but not able to see it) some metal thing holding the light down but don't know how to take of the bulb. Can someone help me here, any advice?
When i was installing my cd player my brake lights fuse got blown but i found the answer by searching this forum. I havn't tried it but sounds like what i done is connect it to the wrong ground.
Where did u guys buy the adapter for the Antenna and how much was it or how did u get the Antenna to work?
I haven't had a good look at the speakers yet (coz i'm studying for finals) but what sizes fit in the front and rear?
Last question ,in the boot of the car i saw this metal box can't remember its name exactly but it said Japanese Control System on it i think but it wasn't connected in, the plug is hanging rite next to it. What does it do? and should i plug it back in?

Wednesday nite i'll start fixing these things up after my last exam

Also i had my first drag :D in the Silvia with my friends s14 series 2 200sx. The car is stock 97 model, manual. My car 93 S13 Silvia 2.0 Turbo auto with 2.5" cat back exhust.

Well at the lights he asked me if i wanted to run will of course i accepted. So we were at the lights i started to step on the brake a bit harder and started reving the car to around 1500rpm coz its an auto. When the lights turned green bam let go of brake and floored it, good lanuch both of had no wheel spin, but i kinda got him at the start by a quarter of a car ( so his headlight was at my front wheel) then when turbo kick in i was off i pulled up in front. I was all smiles :D :D that night beating a s14 silvia. And he said he needs to start doing mods to his car

hahahahhaa...

nice one.
i need to run my cuz' 200sx then.
though his beast is running 1 bar with more mods compared to my nearly stock 180sx....

though i did run a boxter and it was toe to toe.
only thing that stuffed me up was brakes.
heading towards a round about i slammed my brakes and started to skid a little whereas mr boxter didn't even brake till just before the round about.

and we're talking top of 3rd speed here :D
brembo brakes on the boxter shitted on me.. :D

all smiles though... its a porche...

as for the light - i don't know how to do it for your car as i have a 180.. but come to think of it - i don't know how to do it on my car either..

HELP SILVIA and 180sx :D

push down on the metal knob clip ending and jig it to the left (standing front on to the car) while pushing down on it. the clip will release off the hatch and the light bulb can be pulled out by grabbing the rear or power cable of the bulb. try to hold the metal clip down while pulling the light out.

I've got a 180 front but on that you have to squeeze the clip that holds the light down

- Squeeze clip in (clip is like a wish bone type shape)
- Pull out
- Should be able to pull light bulb out now.

Should be the same on the Silvia.... or similar anyway :-?

I am having so much trouble trying to explain this. Hope that helps anyway. :)

NAS77Y is right all you do is push down and towards the centre of the car it should release the clip is a c shape one end is attached to the back of the headlight assembly and it cuves around the bulb and clips in to a smll groove or cut when i replaced my bulbs one of them came out easy and the other required force as who ever had put it in put it in the wrong way as they sit in correctly one way when you get the bulb out pay attention to which way it came out and put it back the same way and if a lot of force is needed to put the clip back on turn the bulb around and the clip should go on with ease

i had to do one today on my silvia. if your is on the drivers side, you need to take the whole light out. but if its on the passenger side you dont need to. just remove the plasic clip that goes right around the socket, then remove the rubber cover, then unplug the wires, then use a pair of pliers to clamp the 2 prongs on the metal clip together, then pull it out while your holding it with the pliers. then hold the light you got out, and pull out the globe by holding it just below the glass. then replace it and do the process in reverse.

there is no need to remove the whole headlight to do the drivers side just remove the battery if you have to use the pliers method but you will find that if you have to use this method that the bulb is in up side down

I find it much easier to remove whole head light to replace blubs,

To remove headlight, u undo the phillips head on metal bit on top. then blinker comes off, u then see 2: 10mm nuts, where blinker was, and u'll see another 2:10mm nuts when u remove the grill/fake light panel thing on silvia's. then whole headlight comes off.
Take a look at the clip that holds in the blub, very obvious, simple clip.

As for the antenna, when i put my cd play in, the antenna went physco, Up then down then up then down non stop. Even a pro didnt' know what was going on, So i ended up unpluging the power plug at the antenna from the boot, and just now leave the antenna up. No hassles.
When you say adapter for antenna u mean the plug? If so, Dick Smith, $2. Antenna is the big fat black wire, inside thick copper wires tangled together, cut the end and u will see there is 1 single copper wire in the middle, connect that to the plug, should plug straight in the deck.

If you need photos for any of this, drop me email shao@netspace.net.au

Cheers
