Deciding between the HKS Hiper and the Trust Power Extreme II. Really have no clue about what to get, though I guess there is that certificate from Trust saying it complies with the sound level. Was also reading through the posts, and the Hiper performed best?

Given the following choices and prices...what would you pick?

1267.60 HKS Fitted
1150.00 Trust Fitted

Quite similar...choices choices choices :-?

Both are above the legal sound limit.
THe Hyper cracks at about 4000rpm.

Sounds MAD :P :P :P

THey are both great exhausts.
But I picked the HKS HYPER.

are u talking about the JASMA certificate? if so, it means nothing over
here. both systems are over the 90db limit that's for sure.

if noise is not a problem i'd go for the hks hiper. that thing really cracks like a whip when u give it some.

Is that price for just the muffler, cat-back or turbo-back?

I have the Trust PE II on my S15. Very well made and fairly quiet as well. I say they give the same performance so why not go for the cheaper one and save the money for a CES racing dump&front pipe.

Just had the CES Racing Dump pipe/ Front pipe installed onto my car today. Holy cow, it makes a lot of difference in the responsiveness of the turbo thus engine in the lower rev. The turbo now spools up at about 2K. Its very easy to get boost. The dump pipe certainly expand the powerband of the engine. :)

When I first have the aftermarket cat back exhaust installed. The engine lost a bit of low end responsiveness. With the dump pipe/front pipe changed, the low end responsiveness is back and better then it ever was. :D

I will give another week's observation before I post further comment on the performance of the CES Racing dump pipe/front pipe.

This may sound like a stupid question, but are N/A cat back systems louder than their turbo equivalent? By how much?

A turbo is about the best muffler you can get, so turbo systems tend to have less muffling. Also, the more power you're putting out the quieter a turbo's exhaust is, which is opposite to an N/A...

My exhaust is hardly louder than stock at idle, but at high revs it's easily twice as loud as most of the turbos I've heard.

so the result is that most N/A systems need to be more muffled to keep to the same noise levels as a turbo system...
