hey liz, pic looks awesome! I'm thinking about doing some courses and starting some track work myself. What would you recommend? I wouldnt use my current car for it, i'd take the oppotunity to build another one.
It's awesome to see a chick out there owning the track! :)

haha thanks mate!

it really depends on what you want to get out of it!

whether you want to do skid pans, grip, drift, motorkhanas, or just a defensive driving course!

I recommend the Ian Luff courses, but to do the track work course you've got to do the defensive driving course first!!! Both are good for you.. but the trouble with the Luffy courses is you only get to use the South Circuit at Oran Park

Aaron McGill is my favourite instructor, hell if I do a track day I'll just call him up and ask him advice on a corner or what not. He's a real champion, runs full GP Circuit days at Oran Park and has the best teaching methods!

but unfortunately McGill runs limited days over summer due to brake downs over summer. But Luffy runs them all the time. It's where I started so perhaps give htem a call!

McGill also runs skid pan days which are no doubt invaluable!!!

Oh hell, I just love them all.. track time is track time who cares who teaches you.. although every driver has a technique.. I've tried and tested both.. McGills driving technique better suits me I think.

I did all these courses in my r33 which was my daily driver at the time, and the car didn't miss a beat (until the last few track days lol)

thats awesome, thanks heaps! what i really wanted to get into was drifting! Cos i reckon it looks like mad fun. I was really close to buying an black stock R33 but then figured my current car would be better value for the mods it already had and petrol prices were through the roof at the time. If i start the track it gives me a good excuse to build another car lol :P Probably lean more towards building a strawberry face 180! How long have you been doing the track for? got any more pics?

I'm Kris and I'm a reformed yobbo

Came here after the old and now defunct Silviaaustralia site shut down where I met Andrew (some know him as 'Dumhed'all we know is he can fix lots of stuff! :p) and one or two of the other older members, before that it was S13's 'terror-flamefest' on Yahoo chat... <shudder>
My S13 was imported and landed here in mid 2000, I used her used as a daily driver for most part of the last 5-6years aside from long trips on highways once in awhile, hence its nowhere near fuc... modified as some others. Mostly because when I did start fiddling with it I inevitably broke some shit because I was raised fixing big lumpy, stupid things with SOHC, no EFI, no computers, huge engine bays, solid rear ends, leaf springs and stuff called 'carburetors' oh and motor bikes.
Mk-Ape no fix little clever car thing. with big thick stupid fingers and small late 1980's pisshead brain.

I work in telecommunications, we'll just leave it at that.
Aside from that, also worked as a cook, artist, spraypainter, panel beater, LAN network admin and have a BA in visual arts :D
Owned lots of different cars, most of them either big dumb and stupid like the nut behind the wheel or small and explosive from when I used too do amatuer rally stuff back... a long time ago now.
On any other part of the interwebs I can be found whoring the shit out of skylines AU forums and making fun of RB owners :p
