Post subject:  TWIN TURBO SETUP FOR SR20?

hey guys,

just woundering, how well would a twin turbo setup on an SR20 work???

or would it be hopeless as the engine will not be able to produce enough exhaust pressure to fully use the twin turbos to its full potential

if this topic has been covered before, please delete.

id like to hear your views and discussions about this.

i personally think that the SR20 will not be able to use the two turbos to its full potential... but thats my oppinion...

Happy discussions

That's why Nissan made the RB26DETT

A 4 stroke I4 doesn't have the exhaust pulses to make twin turbos work if they're in series. It'll be as laggy as hell, and it won't make that much peak power.

You could run a sequential setup, like the FD RX7 or Liberty B4, but most owners of those cars notice the uneven power delivery.

With how technology has progressed these days, you'd be better off with a well matched single turbo if you wanted usable power.

What a waste of money. For the time you spend trying to get a twin turbo setup working correctly and efficiently you are better off looking at doing a twin scroll system.

All that means is that there hasn't been as clean a race as that one for awhile, in terms of safety cars.

It's fastest lap is about 4 seconds slower than current supertaxi's, which is quite an achievement considering today's technologies.

Its pointless running a twin set, you get the same results cheaper with a single turbo, same with other factory twin set-ups.

Sequential systems are expensive and complex and most of the time pointless.

Its not the number of turbos you have in your car  but how much air your engine can suck in.

if your talking about the SR20 then yeah.. its kinda pointless running the twin setup, but if your talking about in general then you must consider other factors.
