The cam covers aren't right for it to be a VG30DET, it looks like a VQ30DET - can anybody confirm? - the only one i've seen was transplanted into a 260z on some yank forum... cam covers looked the same anyways =)

Didn't they ahve to put V6 into the R32 for some racing series, or was it RB into Z33? I can't remember, wondering what that car was a test mule for.

edit: looking more closely at it, what is going on there, notice the extra fillets above the headlights and along the top of the front guard and at each end of the radiator support....

i'm about 75% certain thats an r33 with some weird front end treatment.

The top of the strut towers is definitely not r32 and the shape of the inner guard is wrong

almost certainly a later spec VQ30DET minus the plastic covers.

Though there are a couple of odd things going on. It looks to be a 4 door as the rear window is open but front isnt. There's only 1 wiper set up in ghetto racer mode and the line of the body just doesn't look like 32 to me.

That so called 'r32' would most likely be some prototype test vehicle one off thing, I would love to know more though.

EDIT: It got the better of me, so I emailed him lol...

I do vaguely recall nissan using a car like that as a mock up for the Z33 or V35, underneath it's most likely proto Z33/V35 suspension and obviously with the VQ motor. That's my guess anyways.

4 door something, did anybody notice the eyelids? They dont sit over the headlights at all, looks like theyre covering the gap r33 lights would leave..

re: eyelids - Yah, I refered to them ^ up there as fillets above the headlights, they've done the same thing across the top of the guards.

Here is the IDA link for easy access and because google & co give you a higher page rank when you start linking to like popular sites. =) lots of very nice snaps in there Jarich.

I'm not too sure what the deal is on that one. I know it was a special project by Autech. They cut it in half and extended it in order to make room for the engine. If you look, you can see rivets holding the fender together. I'm not too sure on the motor though. I forgot to ask.
