We'll i've sold the beast for about 3-4 weeks now.

i've tried to cancel my cover with xxxxxxxx insurance scince the day it was sold. till now the cover is still not cancelled and i still had 7months cover and waiting on a refund.

now its only about 6 month left. i rang them and i was told that its not cancelled yet.

i was told that they would ring me when it gets cancelled.

how F*#&@^Kin hard is it to cancell a cover.
i've been with

NRMA
SUNCORP
GIO
YOUNG AND COOL
JUST CARS

for all my previous cars and i've never had a problem...

makes me fink xxxxxxxxxx INSURANCE is a little dodgy.
imagine if i had to CLAIM something..
they are cheap but the service is cheap too...

do yous think they're pro-longin it to eat up on the refund money...

DODGY..

MAYHEM - SNEZY > sorry dudes for mentioning the company but i think ppl should know as some of us here are with them.

l6a6w6s6: point taken

yep, everything happens very slowly, and their communication is not too good, but hey, they're a lot cheaper than most (in most cases)

yeah, claim isn't too fun...

Took me about 5 weeks, but a lot of problems were not caused by the Insurance co.
It was pretty basic though - I had to give them a quote with the claim (which I spent nearly two weeks chasing cos no one would quote on the car)

So it's not the best company if you have to have a claim, but in the end it still gives you insurance cheap...

what I would do is write them a letter explaining everything you have told them already, the date the car was sold and all the dates you have contacted them, including a copy of the receipt you gave the person who bought your car if you have one. At the end mention something about sueing if the premium is not refunded within ** days and I bet they get there arses into gear. If not, you could always sue them

sueing them will cost me more money. i might get it back but prob 6-12 months later. i'm in syd and they're in WA.. aint worth it.

i did write them a formal letter indicating the situation.
i've faxed it over and i made sure someone received it.

will have to wait the waiting game..

DUMHED > so you've had prev experience with them..
they are very quick to take you on but slow to pay out. thats what i wreckon..

but when i get another import i wouldn;t overlook them as their premium is half of the ones here in syd.

just wish i can get my refund..
do you still have your bike :D

NSRs are cool, but sound like whipper snippers :)
good value though.

I'll dig up some pics of mine tonight and send them to you.

why does everyone take me so seriously :-? ?? hehe

sue an insurance company?? pffft, they would bury your ass in paperwork! the only way to sue an insurance company is to have another insurance company do it for you.

I was suggesting a letter koz I thought it might shake them up a bit, but apparently not, since you did that and got nowhere

I reckon the new nsr's would be sweet. shame I'm not allowed to have one :(. Would make a good weekender for someone as unfit as me.

Dumhead: NSRs are cool, but sound like whipper snippers - Might be a reason for that, huh  Do you know if they are based on a CR engine? or were they developed separately to give better bottom end/ mid range for the tar ?

What else do you ride Mr Dumhead?

I had the same problem trying to cancel my insurance with Suncorp, it took 3 months and about 20 phone calls.
I was told that I have to supply a certifiacate that my financier approve of my new insurance choice.
But when I asked them for one they said there is no such thing and they are just trying to delay it.
It all depends who you get on the phone, I got one guy and he would not talk to me until i provided this certificate, then one chick said sure she will cancel it, until a month later that took another payment out.
Finally I spoke to supervisor and she cancelled it there and then and send me a cheque for 3 months worth. :P

The ironic thing about the whole lot, is they told me to find other insurance as they will not insure my car since I modified it. Then they would not let me go.... go figure??

Not sure about the engine development, but it's a similar engine I guess to the CR, but a lot less tuned and stressed.

All the small two strokes sounds pretty nasty, but they go well for the capacity, and are light weight.

I have a Kawasaki GPZ250R, which is like a half faired version of a GPX250, with apparently a bit more power. Goes pretty well for a cheap bike, and handles damn well too. It's been unregistered for a while though cos I've been too busy / broke to use it.

Might have to do some reading on these things, find out what they are made of - I've never really seen one into it and you have to wonder if thats koz of the bike or the market they're aimed at.

I thought the GPX series replaced the GPZ's in the late 80's or early 90's ? keyword there being thought  no actually I'm pretty sure thats right. Bikes are expensive to run huh, i bet you were paying more for your CTP on the Z than you do now for the s12.

If you ring your bank you can cancel any direct debit authority at any time, for anyone who doesn't already know that
