Sounds like you're fucked then.... dealy it as long as you can; ie, wait till you get a reminder notice, and wait till the last day to hand in the court election. will be 6 months before it goes to the local court, and you can appeal to district court after that

Basically postpone your loss of license, makes no difference unless u NEED the car at certain times.

Well I can sorta see why, 2 black 180sx's with two young drivers both doing over the limit, he must've been over the moon.

BTW, my mate got fined aswell (He was following me) but only for like 15k's over because he only got my reading (111km/h, stupid i know) so it wasn't really 45 over that was just the category so I suppose i got the maximum fine?

On a brighter note ur friend can probably get off as the radar zeroes in on the faster car so the pigs have no idea of the speed the other car was travelling at and have no right to issue a fine for it.... tell him to research an appeal aas it could save him.

Trust me, if a cop stands up in court and testifies that he clocked one car at 111kh and saw one following just as fast, the magistrate will convict. I advise your friend to just pay that fine, not take it to court, cos if convicted in court he could face a worse penalty for his troubles. If you take the big fine to court, and plead guilty, and plead that the fine is excessive (ie, you're a poor bastard, no job etc), then you may get a reduced fine, say to $600 or something, depending how good a mood the magistrate is in. However, remember that this would result in you being convicted of the crime, rather than paying an infringement notice which is not an admission of guilt, rather just an out of court settlement with the cops.
