Post subject:  Where to go for Turbo Rebuild

Hi, I need to rebuild my turbo and wondering where the best place is to go, as in who has had positive personal experiences with certain workshops.

The turbo is a HKS 2835. It has shaft play, up and down and very minimal in and out.

Thanks

Ive always used GCG, deal with mark and never had an issue always helpful and he does know his stuff,

If you know what you want they will be more than happy to help you.

I have had a few issues but they have always rectifed the problem and look after me with pricing.

Thanks for the replies. GCG always seems to be well thought of.

What are people's thoughts of Precision Turbochargers?

Hi Guys, thought i'd give a quick update

Took my turbo to Garrett Honeywell in Chipping Norton (basically Garrett turbochargers)

Turbo bearing had seized completely and wastegate was stuffed - reason for turbo failure... mechanic did not connect waterlines!!!!! Stupid SOB

Anyway, Garret were very helpful, quick, professional, knowledgeable and cheap! Would recommend them anytime. I dealt with a guy named John Roccan (Im sure he wouldnt mind me posting this!).

So when turbo goes back on should make more power and boost sooner!

thats exactly right. John at honeywell in chipping norton is extremely helpful unlike Mark at GCG. Also, their prices seem to be more realistic. Although GCG love to take on all jobs, they also love to take lots and lots of money for their efforts. If needing to go to GCG, speak to Michael. He is good with PR and makes you feel more important than just a number.

Ive always deal with mark at GCG out quoted everyone else when I did my TD05 and I had it back the next day, Ive had the same service from him many times over.

I had doubt about what would be in need of replacing so I took the time and stayed while it was inspected, I was shown the parts coming out of my turbo and the new parts that were needed, I found there advise to be honest and very straight forward.

GCG turbos

Give them a call and ask for a rough idea over the phone can't hurt.
