it's partly the turbo itself, and partly the fact that it's a six cylinder engine, so the note is very different.

Mine has a skyline turbo, and a weird manifold so it sounds like a cross between a Sil and a Skyline :D

If you want an rb exhaust note, get an rb. Unfortunately sr's sound bloody ordinary even with an exhaust and pod. Exhaust manifold seems to make a bit of diference.

i reckon the sr20 sounds mad.

although not as tough as a WRX with a fat exhaust.

the sound of my car changed a lot when i changed the manifold.

????

Personally I think the SR's aren't a bad engine, but they sound a little bit sick (*cough*) when they are being pushed.

I have an RB25 in my 180 and it sounds sweet, but it also goes like a shower of shit! Currently 194kw@wheels with the standard RB turbo, that is not good for nothing in my opinion?

Jeff.

yeah the 6 cylinder roar is awesome, i absolutely love the rb exhaust note, its so smooth

try a mid muffler and a large rear muffler, it wont give you the same note as an rb because your still lacking the exhaust pulses of those 2 extra cylinders, but should achieve a somewhat deeper note, which i love mmmm :P
