Hi Everybody!

I have now got a day locked in for an official SilviaNSW SkidPan day

The confirmed date is Saturday 17th November. It is being held at Oran Park Skidpan through Automotion (Aaron Macgill)

Numbers at this stage are locked at 20. This means you will get heaps of tracktime, so bring spare tyres.

Entry is $195 per driver

Helmets are options, as are gloves
Pants are required (zei)! as are shirts.
Covered shoes are required (no thongs badhairdave)

The plan will be to run a dry slalom at one end for drift or timed sessions, and wet/dry skidpan at the other end for doing circuity type stuff.

Payments are now being taken. If you want in, you will have to PM me for bank details, and supply me with your Full Name, Contact Number and email address.

SilviaNSW members will get first preference.

I don't want any PM's from people saying they MIGHT be interested, and I won't be holding any spots for people without payment.

Below is the list of paid entrants and a reserve list. The reserve list is only backup in case anyone in the paid list drops out. It is not a 'Maybe Interested' list.

1. Too_Much_Boost Paid
2. Leif Paid
3. boosted_n13 Paid
4. badhairdave Paid

20. Mokompri Paid

I think this will fill quick, so don't stuff around

Directions
Ok for those that haven't been to this skidpan before, here are some directions. The entrance we are using is Cobbity Road entrance

Snipped from Oran Park Website

--------------------------------
From the city of Sydney

Take the Eastern Distributor past Sydney Airport to the M5 motorway. Follow the M5 to the Camden Valley Way exit.

Follow Camden Valley way to Cobbitty Road, turn right into Cobbitty Road and the Cobbitty Road entrance is less than 5 minutes away.

From the Western Suburbs

Take the M4 to the Northern Road exit and follow Northern Road to Oran Park Raceway. Oran Park Raceway is about 25 minutes from the Northern Road exit of the M4.

From the North of Sydney

Exit the Northern Freeway at Hornsby and follow the pacific Highway into the city, Take the Sydney Harbour Tunnel and follow the directions from the City of Sydney.

From South of Sydney

The easiest way is to find the M5 and take the M5 west to the Beech road exit. Turn left onto Beech road and right onto Camden Valley Way. Continue along Camden Valley way for 15 kilometers and turn right into Cobbitty road. Oran Park is 5 kilometers on the right.

im in. ill be waiting to make the payment.

but can i ask if we can have a look at going back to the eastern creek skidpan? i just felt the surface at oran park was crap and it wasnt that big. eastern creek was good.

and will it be a 'driver training' day or will it be an actual skid session with cone hat markers where we can just let loose as opposed to doing set training scenarios?

either way, i'm in.

mitch do you have any of those 4stud stockies left? i can use them now that i got those darned centre caps off!

Neither Ian Luff nor Aaron MacGill (Automotion) use EC anymore. Apparently they are too difficult to deal with.

The day will be a combination of driver training, and ripping mad skids

nice. hope you get lots of cash-money-paper to spend on your car like i did. my 21st was saturday and i just told my mum to tell all my family to give me cash. add this years tax return as well as hard saving = yayness on my car!!!

but yeah, ill say it again. i'm in for this. hopefully if its iain luff, he'll let us do abit more skidding. thats a shame on EC too, hopefully someone can get something running with them soon.

Dunno where you get the impression there wouldn't be much skidding done with MacGill. He will let us do what I ask. I have already spoken to him about this.

Basically I will say "We want skidz", and he will make that happen.

I like skidz. There will be skidz

i never expressed that regarding macgill. i know macgill will let us skid coz he ran the silviansw EC skidpan day last year and that was all about skidz. i was talking about luff based on the recent oran park skidpan day.

If it's late November I'm interested. My uni exams will be going on early November. The skidpan I went with Macgill this year didn't consist of enough skids. It was more trivial bullshit like handbrake turns and then get back in line for another handbrake turn.
