nothing much to report

manifold is welded up and the car was in one piece and running for about 2 minutes this afternoon.

Then i pulled it apart hunting the coolant leak which luckily appears to be at the seal on the thermostat housing. It looks like it's been taken apart and then just bolted back together and not resealed. So i have ordered a new nismo thermostat for the car and will swap it when i reseal the housing, assuming that there is still a thermostat in there....

All that really leaves is the brakes. Probably should get cracking on that.

Cage weighs in at 23kg so not too bad.

Currently looking at the brakes again, i have a 1 inch master off a GQ patrol in the post (p/n JB1777) which has no internal bias and will be installing a wilwood proportioning valve to get the brake bias right.

Funnily, you can get a new master for $110 delivered and the prop valve for $90 delivered. Spend another $40 on a tee and a few new hard lines to get it all fitted up and you don't have to mix and match second hand skyline/silvia masters any more plus the cost isn't that much more than buying an unknown second hander.

You can also get a 1 1/8 GQ master for about 175 new (So BM57 equivalent).

As for events, i would like to get back out to wakefield by end of march (which is when my current project finishes at work) as i can't see myself having the time before then.

Great stuff, sounds like a pretty affordable option, and as you say, beats the hell out of playing around with second hand ones.

What issues are you having with the brake bias at the moment? Locking rears too easily?

Nah, barely using them.

It's a fault of the master, not necessarily the s15 master's bias, as it was second hand and there was a bit of crap in there that damaged the seal on the rear circuit.

So i finally started on the brakes

patrol master installed and lines tee'd. Braided line run into the cabin through an existing grommet in the back of the engine bay and fitting installed for the prop valve. I've run into a snag as my local brake specialist has closed so need to find somewhere else to get a new hard line made up to connect it all.

drilled and installed grommet for rear line and installed braided line to the back of the car. You can also see one of the brackets i had to make to fit the s15 rear calipers and handbrake cables on the s13

So all that's left (other than the hard line) is to cut the rear line to length and install the other speedflow fitting to go into the prop valve and add a few p clips to hold the line in place

I'm currently thinking about pinching the r33 rear brakes off the other car and running them with a hydraulic handbrake, rather than use the drum, to save unsprung weight as it's pretty easy to do now that i have the rear circuit running through the cabin.

3 years since i've updated this thread. Fuck me, i'm getting old fast....

That makes it over 2 years since i've run it.

Rear brakes got swapped to skyline disks and handbrake, got it to the track, did nothing special. Found a leak in the brakes at the prop valve and the screamer fell off.

It's still funny thinking about the guys at the start/finish line blocking their ears as i went past.

Anyway, looks like this is the end of the line for Hello (good bye) Kitty.

I'll be parting her out very soon so if anyone is interested in some of the parts send me a pm.
