Because the majority of people working in the RTA don't know jack shit; stuff that is even written on their own website.

Unfortunately, she was telling porkies.

If it's not in writing, it was never said. Don't believe anything told to you about the law or your rights, unless you get it in writing.

Well this is it, tomorrow I lose my licence for three months;

Red light camera two years ago (foolish - 3 points)
Not displaying P-plates properly (blew off on the freeway - 2 points)
Not displaying P-plates properly (disputable - 2 points)

...doubly sucks when you consider I was supposed to get my full licence next month. :x

Don't worry Locky, after you'll pay it will still take over three months for the suspension notice to arrive, then another 28 days after that... :roll:

unfortunately you cant delay the payment and let it go to SDRO before you pay it. i did that with my first speeding fine, took over 6 months before i lost my licence. the other time i tried doing the same thing, they must have changed the system. i got the suspension around a month after i got the penalty reminder notice.

Honestly I don't have a problem with alot of these new P-Plate laws. There are too many P-Platers out there that are dickheads or plain dangerous and need a dose of reality to snap them out of their hero complex.

That said though, I think police are loosely applying these laws to target and intimidate p-platers who don't recessarily deserve it

No.

Not legally, but yes.

Just don't tick the box that asks "do you have any fines outstanding" and the system continues as per normal.

I did that when I copped a 6pt fine (double demerits) while on my P's. I only had a month til my full licence, so I just neglected to acknowledge I had the fine until after I got my full licence.

Edit: Thats only if you have NOT paid the fine yet.. I can't be sure about if your suspension is already provisioned.
