This is my latest project...its a bit worse for wear at the moment, hopefully she will scrub up nice though.

Bought it from a girl, cheap, and registered. She'd owned it for six years. It had two subwoofers, two amplifiers, appalling wheels, and the stench of cigarette smoke all ingrained into the interior. It also had an insanely loud, droning exhaust. About the only positive side was that it had tinted windows.

Exterior is rough; and clearly the car hadn't been treated well. Idle was a bit screwed, I figure the engine (SR20DE auto) is on the way out soon. Doesn't bother me one bit. Did a comp test the other day, and results were 150-150-160-100! Hahaha...

First thing I did when I got it home was ripped all the stereo shit out of the car, including the terrible RCA cabling which was all over the place. Also gave it a service and flushed the radiator coolant.

Ripped up all the carpet, took out the back seats, took out the boot carpet, took out the head unit and AC unit. Drove it around like this whilst I was occupied with other stuff (work, and a lot of saving) for a couple of weeks.

I toyed with buying Type X rear seats, as the rear seats were soiled badly. Though as this is a cheap car, the whole project needs to be done on the cheap! So I rented a carpet shampoo machine the other day, and did the back seats and front passenger seat and my bucket seat. Came up okay, and the smell is gone now.

Also of note is the suspension it has in it now. I originally thought they were just stuffed stock springs/shocks, going by the ride height, and the fact that it handled as badly as my first S13 did. When I first jacked the car up though, it appears to have KYB Excel shocks? The front left one has just started knocking, and they handle terribly, so they will be seeing the bin soon.

I also bought some brand new carpet for the floor from eBay. In the end, I've only put the carpet in the front, as I avoid taking passengers and couldn't be bothered trimming it up for the rear.

So far, I've bought:
Bride Ergo I
2x Bride Super Low rail
Buddy Club P1 rims, good offsets. They sit flush, but I'm toying with spacers, just to see how they look?
Nismo front bar (in transit from Japan)
Digital climate control
Stock exhaust
S14 front calipers and rotors (thanks Nobbsy)
Project Mu Type NS pads
New carpet
Nismo rear pods

On the way in the next couple of weeks is:
Tein Super Streets
Pineapples
Probably replace all the other suspension bushes as they are generally rooted
Maybe a new engine...
New door trims

Now on that note, before everyone starts the flaming, I'm considering buying a CA18DET.

Reason being is that I'm not chasing huge power, and someone is selling one at the moment which has good compression. An engine, manual gearbox, and T28bb is not a bad deal for $1000 right? I've driven a few mildly modified ones, and they go alright.

I might end up saving a bit more for an SR20DET though. :)

Opinions, thoughts, advice welcome.

Sounds good - congrats on the purchase.

Are you planning to use this as a daily? Will it see the track?

With the motor, get the one you want from the beginning, you'll regret it in the end.

If you dont buy that CA18DET, let me know where its from as I will :D
