last time i got defected, the cops just told me to put some mesh over the front bar so that it covered the cooler up...and also because...get this..."a person can't touch it and burn their hands" LOL! if my cooler was that hot then i'd be more worried about the rest of my engine LOL!

no-one is going to list a dodgey engineer for you, that would be stupid, if word gets out that they are dodgey then they just get shutdown lol!

i know autosport do engineers certs for like $770 or something

there is a RTA list of engineer signatories u can get off their website somewhere too...

I know of an engineer in sydney that should engineer you no worries. He did my friends car and some things are certainly 'questionable'. I don't know the name off the top of my head so I'd have to check back with my mate. Only thing is, if you would like to see this guy and have him engineer your car, you will have to pay...its quite expensive.

If you want cheap- I can refer you to a guy in Newcastle who will be hundreds cheaper then anything you'll find in sydney and all you'l need is emissions (free) and he'll need to see that ur reo bar is still in tact and hasn't been cut to fit the FMIC. Should be around the $200 mark. Heaps of my friends have been engineered through this guy and he comes highly recomended.

I don't particularly like the idea of getting emissions done either, but I sure as hell am not gonna pay tripple the price its worth just not to have one. I just don't see the point in trying to be dodgy...but thats just me.

there's no point in being half-arsed. you engineer everything,or nothing, because if you only do one or two items, they'll just defect you for others and the cert. is worthless. if a cop wants to defect you,he will.
defecting of performance and modified cars is more about making a nuisance go away than public safety. hence people get written up for low washer fluid. that's their way of telling you to be annoying somewhere else than the street you're doing laps of,or the carpark you're in with 10 mates, pumping out 5cent or puppy dogg.
all the cert. does in most cases is make it easier for you to clear a defect and get back on the road.
some cops will leave you alone if you present a cert. when they pull you over, but most will find something anyway,to give you the inconvenience of having to take the time out to clear the defect and 'encourage' you to take your car somewhere other than their patrol area.

Justin...

hehehe hey frisky...

wow so you got Done aye?

What happen to ima a Girl thing? copper must of been qeer????

hhahah anyhows if auto sport is legit and will 100% garuntee that you wont be harrased with what they engineer you for then use them, that would be my best choice...

besides that i would reccomend you use an RTA approved engineer as they will most likely be looked upon by most cops as a legit engineer rather then using some Performance shops Engineering Cert.

hope that helps make up your mind

few things about this emission's test, firstly to engineer properly any intake or exhaust modifications i.e front mount,3inch exhaust etc, an emission's test is a must, unless the engineer just makes up some bullshit reading's and test i.d's.. which ive seen done..
2ndly the test in n.s.w is free and even if you fail, no record is sent to the r.t.a or e.p.a unless you've been orderd to take an emission's test by the e.p.a or police etc.. so for the moment its free provided you havnt been pinned already for such mod's...

Do you know any places that offer the free emission test?
