What I dont like about the honda engines is that u are limited on what u can touch to get more performance out of it......

not really

even the new K series engines have pretty much any mod you want. there are plenty of US based parts to get the power up on them!

like any engine, the sky is the limit. if you're on a tight budget, you may as well not waste your time to be sure,as there's no double your power with and exhaust and bleeder option like there is with nissan turbos, but then, the whole car is different in concept to a silvia,so it's tuning approach isn't really comparable either.

type R's are decent cars sure, they just do nothing for me.

Agree with Justin there...

Turbo inspired cars like Silvia cannot be compared with regular engine ones like Honda Integra type R or even RX-8. They may seem decent cars, but they replace the engine power with comfort and "style"

'Regular engine', i'd hardly call honda engines regular. I was extramly impressed by what i saw from a couple of dc2rs, even so that i would consider owning one. A dead stock one makes what, 115fwkw, that's awesome for an NA motor, and with mods it's not rare to see 130 or 140fwkw, that's not your regular motor, and they're not replacing power.

There's nothing wrong with comfort and style, not every car has to be stripped out with rock solid suspension and a fiberglass seat. I'm not a fan of the RX8 myself, but i recon the dc2 and dc5s are a well built car, they've put a lot of r&d into those engines, and i think it's payed off.

Yes mate, I have been in a type R. What I meant by a regualr engine is an engine that is not a tubo based and I was refering to Justin statement

and yeah Magnet definitely nothing wrong with comfort and style but I'd rather have these with a SR at a price cheaper than the RX-8 or the type R

don't listen to magnet. the only reason he is saying the hondas are any good is because he got his ass handed to him on the touge by them. if he was in front he would be whinging about over rated they are.

dc2r - much faster than a s14 is debateable... a bit faster i guess if both in standard form...

dc5r prob a little heavier, more refined, although more torque, but less 'raw' than the dc2r... rear seats shouldn't be a problem in these cars :)

in std form,a DC2 likely would be faster. at least until the S14 owner pulls the restrictor out of the wastegate line... that'd sort out straight line.
coilovers and sway bars would sort out the cornering differences, and by the end of a lap or two around a track, the type R would be getting lapped by the S14.

Justin...

yes, a dc2r would be faster, but not by much - which is the point i was trying to get across....

as for the track, the r is built for racing, so i wouldn't be suprised that it would beat an s14 on the track if both stock... i mean the r doesn't even have sound deadening, its purpose built :P comes down to the driver tho hahahahaha

It's funny because i have 95kw and you have 250, those hondas would destroy you, hell, i destroy you.

I daresay a type R will scare a S series off the track even if it's stocker vs modded.
With a competent driver of course.
