Dear all,

For easter went with some friends to have a BBQ past gosford near pretty beach or something like that, was sleeping much of the ride because I was tired and wasnt driving!!! Anyways was in the backseat of the newer honds integra typre r and by god it was alot roomy than I thought!!! I have been in the old hondas and definetly could not fit on the back but for the car to actually make me sleep as well was impressive. I know for my s13 cant fit the people at the back and even if I did, i would have to push the car forward alot!!!! So to finish up all thumbs up for this car!!!!

A Honda review that explains how comfy the back seats are and not the performance.

S13 = sports car thus no backseat but goes really well!
new type r = 'sports car' thus roomy in the back and goes..... ok i guess.

:P

Not the same model but has anyone seen that 'best motoring' video where they race i think a DC2 Type R against an S14 (both dead stock)?
DC2 = much faster in a straight line and much much faster around corners.

But last i heard the Type R is pretty lame these days.

S13 backseats are there to give you somewhere to put your spare tyres.

dc2r - much faster than a s14 is debateable... a bit faster i guess if both in standard form...

dc5r prob a little heavier, more refined, although more torque, but less 'raw' than the dc2r... rear seats shouldn't be a problem in these cars :)

Rear seats are for peasants anyway! Last time I checked you drove from the drivers seat only... :x

in std form,a DC2 likely would be faster. at least until the S14 owner pulls the restrictor out of the wastegate line... that'd sort out straight line.
coilovers and sway bars would sort out the cornering differences, and by the end of a lap or two around a track, the type R would be getting lapped by the S14.

and I think the last line should be 'rear seats shouldn't be in these cars.'
sports cars need a driver, three pedals,a sterring wheel, and a gear lever. a navigator is optional. anything else is hurting your power to weight ratio.

I've seen a couple of dc2rs in stock form with good tyres going hard, one of them pulled a 1:14 or 15 around wakefield. I doubt they'd be as quick in an S14.

not dead std they wouldn't,the suspension isn't up to it. noone races dead std cars though,so it's a moot point.

years ago I did 1'19's in an S14 with S15 struts and front sway bar,and no other mods bar a rear muffler change. having someone decent behind the wheel could have brought that down to at least a 17 if not better.

wakefield is about brakes and suspension setup. take the DC2 to eastern creek and see if it still wins.
