I've just had a lash at both the front and rear bumper bars on my Black 180sx. Segments of the original paint had a splotchy/cloudy look to it. I tried Meguiar's medium-cut paint cleaner (compound) first followed up by Sonax polish. Both were applied separately via a random orbital sander/lambswool pad. They were also finished off with a terry towling cloth pad.

The paint surrounding the blotches came up schmick, but the cloudy patches still remain. The same technique was applied to the body of the car with decent results. I just don't know whether the bumper problem is due to plastic primer issues under the paint or something else.

Btw IMG 1134 is the front bumper bar with the pop-up headlight next to it.
