Advan at Silverwater, dont skimp on the boost controller spend the extra cash and get a good electronic one that holds boost.

Damn.... I was in Silverwater today speaking to a mechanic :P would have been good to drop in.

How much u reckon a decent boost controller is worth ? (failing getting one for XMAS, DumHed and myself will be building one).

What brands do you recommend for the other stuff also ?

Anyone know how much for this and the pod, I like it: http://www.advan.co.nz/images/10060.jpg <- Apexi.. yes plz

wat about a cheapo simota pod from autobarn? i got one on my pulsar and it works great. i think it was aroun $80 including adapter

id just get a bleed valve, that way u dont end up flicking the 'ultra high boost' setting all the time ;) my mate got a $50 home made special off ebay and it works great and never loses boost. u just use a spanner to loosen off a spring inside of it which moves a ball bearing. simple, effective, cheap :D dont go a turbosmart one ive heard they leak sometimes.

as for guages, try and get a boost one with a memory, that way u dont have to keep yur eyes on it while yur testing n stuff. maybe try wreckers 1st for a plastic pillar guage holder

its still too large.

Mayhem..
sorry to say but those apexi gauges are the older ones.. dun know if they still make them.. hehaehea..
but since being an older model it should be cheaper to buy around $400
The newer versions dun have the buttons on the gauge instead they use a control box like the DEFI gauges... and the blitz.. well they're too dayem pricey but nice...

Mechanical is fine for me... I mean I would rather spend the extra money on mods that give me performance gain....

$2000 is the limit... I am not too fussed on brand, as long as its quality.

Open to suggestions :)

I am going to build one of the boost controllers from Autospeed, the one used on their Audi S4.

Has two adjustment knobs:

First is for a bleed fpor actual boost pressure.

Second is to control wastegate creep, from factory (gradual boost increase to keep it smooth in power delivery), to the wastegate staying shut until beak boost therefore hitting very hard and sudden.

http://www.autospeed.com/A_0685/page1.html

They are the type of things controlled by electronic units except obviously its not incabin and doesn't have fancy displays and stuff.

Cost around $150 for parts.

Maybe you and DumHed could incorporate some sort of incabin control to it to remotely control the knobs. I would be up for that.
