This was booked many moons ago when Monday 27 April 2009 was still a public holiday...

The good news is, now that it isn't, its a lot cheaper at $145! (Includes official timing)

For those in ACT it is still a public holiday...

But for the New South Wales dwellers - start getting your leave applications in now!

Hope to see you there...

Yes I think I might do this. Gotta use up my 8 weeks saved leave somehow

Hey man - good stuff!!

You'll be going to a lot of trackdays/skidpans/motorkhanas/hillclimbs whatever else there is to go to use up 8 weeks worth (here's a good starting point - this website tries to reconcile all track events across Australia: http://www.oztrackdays.com/events/index ... il&eID=166)

Were you thinking of creating a website like that or you've seen this before?

It is a good idea, pretty sure it includes motorsport events for spectators too, as well as a variety of events across drift, circuit, rally etc.

And keen as mustard you should be!

Actually nothing to be afraid of - our days are not meant to be intimidating where everyone is a pro-racer... it is a social day and to make things a little bit more fun you can choose to put a transponder in your car to get timed.

You will need a helmet, closed-in shoes & socks, long sleeves, and preferably a car that doesn't leak oil and liquids (otherwise you'll have to pay for the cleanup!).

Most trackgoers will recommend some higher temp brake pads, tyres with some tread (once you get more serious people start looking at semi-slicks etc) and I suggest a higher temp brake fluid.

You don't need a CAMS licence, an ordinary state driver's licence will suffice, however Wakefield will charge you ~$20 for daily track licence or $50 for an annual Wakefield Park licence. Existing CAMS licensed drivers have this fee waived.

Can't think of anything else at the moment but there will be other Silvia's there (and a variety of other cars you'll definitely be faster than, including me), so come along and practise your cornering!

Oh and another tip, if you don't want to go head first into a larger track like Wakefield, if you can make it out to a training day at the new Marulan Driver Training Centre (smaller circuit) that might help. Although I bid that Wakefield is probably safer (more runoff).

Yeah I was thinking of creating a website that had all the track days listed.

I was trying to put together a calendar for myself of all the days so I could plan which events I was going to attend and thought, if only there was a website that already had all the information... and you posted that!!!

Hehe well someone did the hard work for you! Now all you have to do is set it as a bookmark and just check if it correlates with your leave :)

I'm in for this (booking made)!

It's been almost a year since I was last out on the track, it should be good fun.
