I HATE roundabouts... I reckon I go through about 20 on the way to work - no joke! They're massive and pretty dangerous - you gotta full gun it otherwise you run the risk of getting t-boned...(and then I started accidently drifting in the wet today, scary)

Apart from my whinging, the deal is, all the people who are coming to MDTC are not pussies who are scared of the trees (I'm pretty sure they're still there, sorry) and its $120 per day. You'll prob get the same number of sessions (if not more) because it is such a small track.

#1 roundabouts are fucking awsome :D haha

#2 MDTC looks awsome. IDA will/is haveing a day there this year, should be fun, fuck the trees :D

Will be great to see you guys there - who's coming on which day so I can start stalking?

Here's something to add fuel to the fire:

Circuit Club have been planning this for the last couple of months -

This is the very first time we are staging a Touge Battle, we decided that we should choose two cars of a very high standard, but with very different characteristics.

You couldn't ask for more differences than these two!

Saturday will be a practice day for the cars. Help them get used to the new track and set up their cars accordingly.

On Sunday afternoon, we will run a "best of 3" Touge Battle, with rules run identical to those in Best Motoring. Extend your lead and you win. Can't get away and you loose.

A single battle will be run over one lap of the MDTC, starting from the middle of the straight and ending at the same point.

The biggest question is this - can Jacky Yick's Civic have a high enough cornering speed to beat the EVO? or Will the Tilton Interiors EVO just dominate proceedings with what is rumoured to be an 800hp engine?

Time will tell!

P.S. The Battle won't interrupt normal proceedings of the Training Day event.

Yeh look don't ask - I'm interested to see how this is going to pan out (I did suggest drivers from initial drift or drift australia!) but if it doesn't go to shit hopefully it can be a regular segment we can invite the "studio audience" to participate in.

Don't know about noise restrictions but I assume it is taken care of. Do people usually complain?

complain no, they only allowed cars with noise limits under 90db on the ida day and gated ,straight through exhausts weren't allowed on. but if there's a 800hp evo going i figured they sorted that out

is anyone taking footage, looks good though

Wow - were the IDA people checking or the MDTC people checking?

Would have been pretty disappointing being sent home...

Yes will be footage - they're going to try to shoot a semi-pro video on Sunday when the battle is actually on. Saturday will be a bit of a warm up for the drivers for them to famliarise with the track.

I'll post up the footage when its avail... but yeh spectators are all welcome. Coz its such a small track you can pretty much see everything if you stand in the right place lol.

You should find out what the deal is with the 90db limit. It is a MTDC enforced rule.

If you haven't told people about this and they turn up and get turned away, they will be expecting a full refund (and rightly so)

Every SR powered car with a sports exhaust will be over 90db

I'm sure the hoard of NA cars (especially hondas) will be easily over the 90dB also!..

LoL..hope half of the whole field don't get sent packing!?

Apparently a lot of this was driven by the owner's neighbour who sits next to the fence measuring exhaust noise levels with his meter. Then Garry bought his own decibel meter that logs and records in pure wave format...

Anyway I don't know what's going to happen - all I can say is I've been there and we were fine. Also some mates did a track day last weekend and it was rotaries, evos and a skyline and they were all on the track. Most tracks have noise limits - some enforce them better than others I guess.

whyte: we usually upload videos here on the main page: http://www.circuitclub.com.au/
Don't think it will be uploaded straight after the race so maybe check a few days later... also not sure if we have enough handycams so if anyone wants to volunteer thats another chance at getting some good footage!
