not bad!

The track is pretty well suited to your car.
It's a pity the zed only had dodgy street tyres, but it was still good fun :)

Do you think the tracks are at all comparable?

Last Wakefield visit was a high 1'11". There is probably another second in the car but I don't know about the driver.

Marulan reminded me of a 1/3 scale Wakefield. I spent the whole lap in second or third. The long straight only lasts for about 7 seconds so not a lot of advantage for powerful cars unless they also have exceptional braking and handling.

The track is still a bit green so it will get quicker. I reckon someone will get down below 40secs in a street car fairly and it will be interesting to see what sort of car it is. It will need to be light, well balanced and not too powerful. Hello Kitty might have a chance as long as it isn't too cam-my. I know Autosport has a Marulan Day coming up soon. Might be worth entering.

The short straights and constant turns really screw with the turbos and V-TEC cars. In the Touge Battle, Jacky Yick was struggling at the V-TEC Yo! point.

I'm downloading and sorting vids at the moment. I'll post links to some so you can get an idea of how busy you are at this track.

Is there any advantage of running semis on such a short track?

Definitely an advantage. Also the type of semi will make a difference. Jacky was half a sec quicker on Kumho semis today than he was on Yoko 048s yesterday. Most of this track is hard cornering so I'd expect a couple of seconds out of good semis over good street tyres.

The video is on its way... touge battle ended up being red civic vs yellow turbocharged mx-5 (coz something happened to the BEL evo).

And to my knowledge noone was prohibited/turned away from driving on either track training days...

I guess beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.

one man's abused and damaged car is full of 'character' to another.

I'm glad to see it's finally getting some attention.

Some excellent pics. Might have to ask Matt how I can get hi-res copies of some of them.

Two vids:
A couple of laps of the track

Wheelwork complete with oops moment. You'll notice the only time the steering wheel is straight is for about 7 seconds on the main straight
