This has been open for 2 weeks now, had 300+ views and I've not had one single commitment. I'm not going to run the risk of SilviaNSW losing money it doesn't have.

This day is now cancelled and its not likely i'll bother organising another one. Looks like people are over skidpan days

I won't be organising any more days through SilviaNSW. If I can't get people interested in a skidpan, then I definately can't fill a OP North day.

There are other clubs that run skidpan days and drift days.

Fair enough, I guess there is always a risk of it not filling and losing money. Pity no more skid pan days, being able to have passengers was great.

I can understand that its rather risky to organise days like this.

I think if any motorsport-type events through SilviaNSW are going to be held again, I think it would probably have to be done through a request with enough people backing it up to book it in. Maybe a poll would be useful for this.

Anthony: does that mean dyno days are gone until further notice?

dyno days are a bit different.

We only pay for the cars that go on the rollers and don't need to pay up front

As far as poll's go, they are a complete waste of time. We can put up an EOI thread and have 10-15 people saying they are interested, but when it comes to committing we have 1 or 2 coming forward, or in this case, 0...

shame these died. they few i went to (i think its been 3 since my 1st one in jan) were really good fun.

the added aspect of pasangers made it alot easier to learn from those better that yourself (i know it helped me a bit) and you could show off to our mate without the risk of stuffing your car

i really enjoyed these, i wonser why they died so quickly

I dunno what happened. I think people just got lazy or expected to get a spot at the last minute..

The first one filled in under 24hrs
The second one filled in 3 days
The third one took a couple of weeks
The fourth didn't fill till the day before the event
This one didn't fill one spot in 3 weeks

I think "over-dose" is the issue here, different events through the year is a good idea. Maximum two skid-pan events per year is, i think, sufficient to create interest.
This outcome should have been expected after the third event on the list above!

Another point that have been raised is the fact that other car clubs also organise these sort of activities and considerable number of members here are on them as well and their participation in their events make it harder here to get the necessary numbers here.
