Wakefield isn't a good track for people to learn to drift on. Its fairly quick compared to driftland |

yeah thats true, some of wakefield is slow but the best parts to drift are quite fast, lotsa fun though

skidpan days are always fun to attend and if they were all at the same cost as the one organised now, then they will be even more popular. i'm hoping to give Wakefield a visit when all my suspension bits are done (been saying that for weeks) and it would be great do it with some of the club members. |

More events would be good. When I joined this place we were driving all the time, and the social aspect was what made this place more interesting. With the drying-up of events, people moved on and so now I'm hardly on. |

You sure it would be that much for 50 people? Wakefield's site says a weekday booking is $2050 a day, plus options I guess. 50 people at $100 a head (I'll say your $160 includes a yearly license) is $5K. Even if you ticked every box you're still only looking at around $4K, and what's the likelihood that you're going to have a water truck, ambulance, and crash rescue and a tilt tray simultaneously on call for such an event? The venue has a cafe, and Goulburn is only 5 mins away, so people can serve themselves for food. |

I doubt we would get anywhere near the number of people required for a proper day if we held it on a weekday. Most people aren't committed enough to take a day off work for it |

I think we should have 1 track day every 3 months, probably give people more notice to take time off work- around 6-8 weeks approxiamately. I don't think you'll need 50 cars? I've been to some private track days and there's like a maximum of 30 cars, around $120 per car, $50 for license, and there's timing included too. With 50 cars, there won't be much track time............ |

I don't think there's much point debating how many we need. I think tmb and others have researched this. I'd pretty much go to as many events as the wallet would allow. I'm hoping to get to 4 or 5 track days next year, don't know about skid days - i'll see how much I enjoy my 1st one! |

Who'd you go with? What track was it? And what day of the week? 50 isnt too many for wakefield - thats 4 groups of 12 and 13 cars.. running 20 mintue sessions each group would see the track 5 times allowing time for cars to be recovered... |

It was Wakefield and it wasn't a club meet, it was basically a large group of friends, and friends of friends attending a private track day organised by a mutual person. And both the meets were on Fridays! I thought it was too much because I haven't been to Wakefield with a group more than 30 cars, I'm not saying it's not possible........Whatever the number or the day, I will still ty my best to get time out of work to attend! |

I still dont quite understand what you mean, if you all went to a speed off the streets day, you would have had 30 cars in a single session, we're hypothetically speaking about 20 per session, thats two thirds.. Wakefield run those days because if they don't have a booking, it provides a steady income for the staff and maintenance of the track.. When you hire Wakefield for a private day such as what silvia200sx is talking about you are not required to have flags, extinguishers, marshalls etc. unless you so choose or are running it under CAMS. I have been to lots of private track days ranging from $100-150 including timing with a maximum and they only had start/finish and recovery which was at part cost to driver to help keep everyone under control. |

FYI People, there may be another skidpan day next month if i can get the numbers. I'm also in discussion regarding Driftland days and Full Circuit days Could be some interesting shit coming up |
