OFFICIAL DETAILS:

[FOR SYDNEY SIDERS, THE 'OTHER' SECTION IS OF IMPORTANCE ;) ]

WHEN: Sunday 7th October

MEET: BP Beresfield

TIME: 9.30am for a 10am departure

THE PLAN: The plan is to leave BP Beresfield at 10am sharp, head up John Renshaw Drive in Kurri Kurri. We’ll then cruise out through Cessnock to Wollombi and jump on Route 33 which will take us down Gosford way. From here, it’s a 5 min run on the freeway before exiting onto the Central Coast Highway where we’ll be stopping for lunch at “La Porchetta Trackside” restaurant (which is located inside the big Domaine Complex). La Porchetta is a car orientated place, with Nissan and Holden memorabilia— and a nice place to eat.
After lunch, we’ll head to somewhere on the coast for some photo’s and a relaxing afternoon, with the chance to socialise and meet new people :D

WHAT TO BRING:

• A full tank of fuel
• Camera
• Money for lunch, preferably cash as I’m fairly certain they do not allow you to split the bill
• A sensible driving attitude please!

OTHER: For those coming from Sydney I am prepared to put in some effort to try and organise a meet for you guys, and then a possible run down the Old Pac Highway before meeting up with us Newcastle people for lunch etc. HOWEVER, I will need some assistance in this from someone in Sydney as like a contact who can lead the way down :D

NOTE: I will need to know exact numbers of all those who will be eating at the restaurant as booking as essential- this place gets absolutely packed out. As I will be making a booking, I expect some courtesy in regards to this booking— if you cannot make it and I have booked a place for you, please notify me ASAP so I can withdraw your place. The same goes if you plan to bring an extra on the day— I will need to book another spot at the table as this place does get busy!! (The last time I went there was not a spare seat in the house!) Please don’t think I’m being a bitch— just making sure we do not inconvenience the restaurant :D

RSVP (for booking purposes): 30th September— post here, PM, call or sms me :D

Maps will be provided as soon as I can find them— there is still plenty of time though.

I also do not mind if you want to invite along other friends who do not drive a Nissan :D

Any questions, please do not hesitate to call or sms me on: 0422 041 813. I generally don’t answer private callers tho ;)

If I’ve left anything out, please, let me know :D

Jessica

[I HAVE ALSO INVITED NISSANSILVIA.COM TO THIS, I HOPE THIS WILL NOT BE A PROBLEM- ALL HAVE RECEIVED THE SAME PLEA FOR SENSIBLE DRIVING :)]

______________________________________

Hi guys,

As a member of another nissan forum (nissansilvia.com) I am organising a cruise, which is currently just an EOI really, lol.

The basic plan is to start in the Newcastle region and cruise through Wollombi in the Hunter and then right through to Gosford via Route 33. For those that don't know, Route 33 is known as the tourists drive from Sydney to the Hunter and is quite a nice drive, encompassing some twisties, but overall just nice sunday driving

Once we exit Route 33, there will be a quick 5 min run on the F3, then to the Central Coast Highway where there is a car orientated restaurant called "La Porchetta Trackside" Restaurant. They actually do have Nissan memorbillia

NOTE: I will post the same 'disclaimer' here as I have on nissansilvia, which is that in the Cessnock/Wollombi area, the roads leave a lot to be desired (think Parramatta Road in Sydney as an equivalent). However, once you leave Wollombi and get moving the roads improve and makes for a really nice drive. Caution will be needed though, particularly for low cars, or cars with bodykits. But hey, my s15 survived and she is quite low. :)

I'm not sure how many members are local, or if sydney people are willing to make the trip, but I'm looking to organise this for a months time, most likely the 7th Oct at this stage (which is a sunday)- but dates can be changed :)

So, any interest?

Jess.

Its a nice collection of roads out there, but since most ns.com drivers scare the shit out of me I'll make sure I'm nowhere near the area.

I'd have to say that I've never been on an 'official' nissan silvia cruise, so I can't make comment, but I've only posted this in the Newcastle section so thus far only Newcastle members coming. I have been on many small cruises with all the locals and can certainly vouch for their driving abilities. Sure, like most they like to have their fun but in terms of driving respectively, I'd say they are generally pretty good drivers :)

I'm a maybe for this.

Car needs to stretch its legs, and I haven't been through the Hunter in a while.

Great! Well it seems as though there is a bit of interest :)

So I'll get to the planning now :)

I will find out exactly about this route 33 etc and will find maps when I can so that people aren't going to get lost.

Just a question for the sydney people- are you keen to come up and drive thru the hunter, or do the aforementioned cruise down the old pac and meet at gosford? Cause I can organise both :)

I'm fine with anyone you want to bring along (I've asked friends of mine in other cars) as long as everyone drives safe and doesn't put other people's cars in danger and stuff :)

Just doing some uni work, hopefully have details up on the weekend :D
