it's a memorial cruise anyways guys, and chances are the police will be WITH US, but I wouldn't expect many people will be fanging it around the mountain anyway.

WHAT: Peter Brock Memorial Service

WHERE: McPhillamy Park, Mount Panorama

WHEN: Saturday, 8 September 2007

TIME: 4pm

The first anniversary of the death of motor racing legend Peter Brock will be marked with a service to be held at Mount Panorama on Saturday 8 September.

Fans will have a chance to come together and honour the memory of the nine times Bathurst winner during a ceremony to be held in McPhillamy Park at the top of the Mount Panorama racing circuit.

The service will be conducted by the Very Reverend Andrew Sempell, the Anglican Dean of Bathurst on behalf of the Bathurst Minister’s Association.

Mayor Norm Mann said the service would provide an opportunity for reflection at a place recognised by many as the spiritual home of Australian motor sport.

“Peter Brock is remembered by many as the “King of the Mountain” and we feel a simple and dignified service at this place he knew and loved is an appropriate way for us to remember him,” Cr Mann said.

“I believe a number of car clubs will be making their way to Mount Panorama as part of their own tribute to their hero, and we welcome them and everyone who is interested to be present at the ceremony.”
