The best place to buy them at the moment isn't a secret. Gordon Leven Tyres in Emu Plains are selling 235/45/17 RE55s for 280 each. This price only applies to this size tyre though, which is convenient as that is what most of us want to run.

Thanks I was aware of that but I was referring to the other tyres you mentioned.

Re55's v Toyo R888? Same size. Money not an issue. Preferences, experiences?

anyone can answer the mans questions?

we went back again today and it was raining again. the track semi dried up and we got to put in some half decent times.

semis + wet = dori fun lol. some hairy moments but managed to keep it together.

i managed a 1:13.00 not bad first time out at the track. i was doing crap until my mate came in the car with me and showed me the lines and gave me advice as to what gear etc to be in certain points how to take certain corners. the wet track made it a bit hard at times. my mate managed a 1:10 also in an s15

Hey,

To those of you who have been on the wakefield track day (and running the 1:09's and 1:10's), what suspension mods were you each running. I need to buy some sway bars (nolathane, whiteline???) and maybe camber, traction and toe end rods, any recommendations.

I also had my first track day experience just last week and am planning my next venture down to Goulburn.

Would anyone be willing to go probably 31st August or early september?

Thanks Paulo :)

Spend your money on entry to the track.

Then play with different lines and braking points, as well as different tyres/pressures, and your allignment with the factory arms (where possible) to get the car feeling how you want it to, and to understand how each change affected the cars handling.. Then if you feel the need, buy the adjustable arms that you need to improve the car..

The people doing low times have spent a lot of time playing with all sorts of different setups from stock to what they currently run.. And playing with the stock stuff costs nothing!

Except dumhed.

That bastard just stripped the car, chucked in some aftermarket springs and shocks and camber tops and semis and started spitting out quick times..

Autosports day on the 8th September. Timing included.

I did my first 1:09 with a set of Tein Flex, Whiteline swaybars and camber bolts up front.

People turn up in stock lancers and mirages dude - you dont have to have an "off the chain" setup to drive on the track..

Come with 8) Just bring a few simple tools (socket set and spanner set up to 21mm) and full length clothes.. Theres friendly people, good food, and a servo 5-10 mins away for fuel!
