Yeap, we waited around half the day for the rain to stop, but it was still flowing on some corners, so they wouldn't let us on.

Yesterday it was dry as a bone and one car on the track the whole day

Fark I would have been pissed big time. as Im sure you guys were.

Dumhed if you get those lap timers would be interested.

With regards to the V700, are these a proper R compound? Do they grip better than the RE55's? I wouldnt have thought so :o I am using them, mind you 205/45/16 which are tiny, but didnt 'think' they would have been as good.

When I originally bought some of the Kumhos the guy selling them said they were better than RE55S.
I found they do grip better in some areas, but in other areas the RE55S were better. I had to drive different lines for the different tyres too.

I think the Kumhos are a softer compound, which makes sense since they're being used for Lotus cup rather than Commodores like the cheap priced RE55S!
They are a proper R compound semi slick, even though they don't really look like it. They retail for a similar price to RE55S too I think (not the cheap price!)

That is fucking bullshit. The last time it rained, I was allowed on. There wasn't any standing water, but it was still pretty damned heavy.

But its probably because none of us were driving Silvias, so they knew we wouldn't crash trying to drift or something. :P

It was pretty bad though, it had rained all night so all the run off areas had bodies of water waiting for us if we ran off. They basically said they didnt want the hassle of pulling people out of 2 foot of mud and water all day, not to mention there was about a foot of water on the track at the exit of the last turn abd turn 1.
So it wasn't just based on track condition alone.

There are much better tires out there compared to the RE55s

The V700's are a really good tire but you need to get the pressures right for them to work properly. We have been trying Hosiers on the S15 race car and they shit all over the potenza's and are only a few dollars more. The Ao48 is a far better tire but slightly more expensive.

For the money you cant go past the RE55s which makes the falken offereings look weak.

So in summary which tyres do you recommend?

Where do you get them from?

Thanks!
