Seriously guys, decent tires, decent suspension (I dont mean adjustable coilovers or cusco racing suspention, just suspension in good condition, not saggy or bouncy) and you should be fine.
Last cruise, I had slightly worn shocks in the front, I had a dodgey T25 turbo that wasn't spooling properly, and wasn't getting enough oil, and a stock boat-anchor CA18DET, wasn't overly experienced, but goign at my own pace, I was fine.
There is usually the quick group, and the slightly quicker group, and seriously, it's still street driving, it's not a race track, so dont think you need to be Mark Webber or Craig Lowndes, just dont push yourself to far, and you wont have a problem, and there will be re-grouping points, so you wont get left behind or lost.
I also suggest UHF radio, because the people up the front more often than not relay valuable information which will dictate your cornering position, etc, and if you have mechanical problems, you can radio them, and someone can fall back and assist you. (Just dont let Rsk11n get up the front making shit up about what's coming the other way, rks11n, I never saw that truck moving the demountable coming the other way on the last cruise).
