Nuh, enjoy the luxo ride.
If you lower it the ride will be harsher.

Are you talking "worth it" for lowering - to make it handle better or look better.

I guess you could put some different rate springs in there, better shocks or even go further with a handling package ( thicker sway barz, urethane bushes and stuf) I think the ride height i fine the way it is, pretty low from the factory.

Check up on the mrt forum and they might have better tips for suspension mods for that car, more knowledge on that vehicle.

yeah the mrt forum is ok but not many mods have been made for the car yet... it hasnt been mapped for a better ECU even, the new ECU is due in september. they are working on exhausts and stuff at the moment but no one has really said anything bout lowering them.. :D

Find a better forum then, its run by a workshop aiming to make additional sales. 8)

If you're after a dropped look, then I guess its fine. The current Liberty sits pretty low (for a factory car, and even for a car that hasn't been stupidly slammed).

If you're after handling, you're going to have to firm up the suspension to cope with the lower travel. On public roads, having too little suspension compliance is not a good thing. Your tyres can't maintain good contact with the road if they can't soak up bumps, and so ultimately your car handles worse. While lowering and stiffening is great on the track, on the road its can be counter productive.

If you're driving an Excel, any replacement to the factory marshmallows is a benefit, but if you're driving a model where the manufacturer has spent more than 20c in testing and setup, gains will be harder to find. But you will feel them every time you hit one of Sydney's prolific potholes, speed humps, etc....

I've just put 18's on my car (over the 17's) and the ride comfort has dropped. I'm feeling the bumps a lot more now when I drive the car, and its not like smashing your suspension against the bump stops is the best sound or feeling in the world, and if anything my car's gotten even more understeery when I've pushed it on flowing road.

How about getting some adjustable coilovers so you could fiddle with your ride height when ever, where ever.
