Well I'm finally back behind the wheel of a car (and no, what I was driving around for the last few months does NOT qualify as a car). It's not quite as nice as my last white 180, but she'll do. It's an r32 GTS (2L n/a), but the reason I'm posting here and not at skylines downunder is she's currently lined up for a heart transplant. That's right, bring on the SR20DET!

The r32 GTS is already a good deal lighter than her "land yacht" turbo fitted brothers, due to the lack of HICAS and ABS. By putting the SR20 in I'm going to save another 50-100 kilo's from the front end, and from some of the pictures I've seen, it'll be a dream to work on the engine. There's nearly enough room in that engine bay to stand... WITH the sr20 in there!

So although she's going to have the looks of a skyline, at least she'll still have the heart of a silvia :-)

Specs so far:

locked diff (kazz... I think)
adjustable coilovers all round (cusco i think from the colour)
stupidly loud exhaust (sounds great though!)
mandatory missing passenger air vent
matt-black "drift spec" paintwork
bald tires
blue and black steering wheel (which I'm selling)

piks to follow...

It won't fully get underway for around 2 weeks thanks to work, but I've managed to find most of the bits and pieces so far. Wish me luck!

J - find a guy called Bozz he is on performance forums. He has done the conversion, may be able to offer some advice and hints etc. Top idea BTW. Try here also www.meggala.com

Wow - thanks for the support guys! :-)

OK I6a6w6s6. I just finished reading through that ENTIRE webpage. That's amazing! Three thumbs up man, it looks incredible! ConGRATS! You've gotta be happy with that!!

As for confusing the RB fans, I plan on making it a little more obvious for them. Checked out the RTA website. Numberplate "SR 20 32" is free :-D

And the power of the n/a 2L RB? I was most impressed. Comfortably lights up the rears at any speed in first or second gear, but the rear tread is very low. Even so, it's definitely fun to drive. I was VERY surprised at the grunt from such small cubic capacity. Full credit to nissan - they sure know how to make nice engines!

Just checked out the website too QIK180 - thanks for the tipoff! Nice detailed piks and info. It looks like a relatively straight forward job (as straight forward as an engine conversion can go, anyway). I'll see if I can track down that Bozz fellow too.
