Hi,

I own a trailer that is really annoying me. Got it second hand 20 years ago. Spent last 3 weekends stripping, it repainting it etc and fitting new lights. When I had the spare wheel off I noticed it looked like a different stud pattern and the bolts are much further apart. So basically if I had a puncture i would have been stuffed anyway. I ring up heaps of wreckers and find one that says he has volvo rims that fit trailers with holden hubs so I drive 40km across town and then back doing nearly 100km all up and the stupid thing doesn't fit, the bolts are much closer but still too far apart.

Does anyone know anything about holden wheels and what stud patterns they have. Maybe I have hubs off some really old holden but not sure.

Thanks
Chris

holden 5 x 114.3 (like s15/r33

volvo would be a odd euro pattern at a guess like 5 x 108

negative.

holden wheels are 5 x 120, so are 3 series beemers.

S15/r33/ford falcon are 5 x 114.3

if the volvo rims don't fit you likely have HQ pattern hubs. they're VERY close to commodore, but not exactly the same. commodore is 5/120,and HQ's are imperial,so it's likely 4 5/8",which is ~118mm.

try wreckers for a set of jellybean mags or something. HQ-HZ stockies are VERY difficult to find these days.

Justin...

p.s. Fords run 5/114.3 stud pattern, but the centre bore is much larger than nissans. aftermarket rims may fit,but genuine nissan wheels won't fit onto a ford.

Thanks guys,

I was told the Volvo rims where identical to HQ rims that most trailers have.

Not sure how to really measure the pattern, is it a circle that would go though the middle of each stud and then measure the diameter. If so i think my trailer is about 114mm and the volvo one 118..

What I did measure is the hole in the centre for the hub is about 58 or my trailer and 65 for the volvo wheel.

I tried the spare from my wifes MY2003 2002 outback (old shape) and the stud pattern was identical (probably 114 but the hub centre hole is only 55 so it wouldn't fit over.

Based on this info I will ring around a few wreckers, if i don't have any luck I might ask a Trailer shop how much for new hubs and wheels that fit.

Volvo is the same as HR and Torana,in other words, early holden. HQ is different again, the later pattern. then there's commodore.

Thanks for all the help guys. The Pick and Payless website seems impressive, might have to go there when I need something else.

I found a rim that fits at a place in Canberra, it is an early Valiant. Never new anyone used valiant hubs for trailers but they obviously did.

Thanks.
