maybe the rules were changed at a certain year?

A lot of cars have one projector and one reflector setup in each headlight, for no apparent reason.

i think it was just some states also

like some states require cars to drive with their front indicators constantly lit. others dont. some states require that you drive with your headlights on 24/7 while you are driving

america is weird

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but maybe I can clarify some of this a bit.

For S13's America got the 180sx front end on both the coupe and the fastback due to a required minimum headlight height, which the S13 Silvia front end did not conform to. All 240sx's (we only got s13s and 14s, no 15 :( ), came equiped with a KA24, hence the name. The zenki s13's w/ the KA24E, and every 240 from 1991 on w/ a KA24DE. There is a large amount of people who turbo the KA, however, for the cost it is usually cheaper and more reliable to simply swap in an SR20DET sourced from Japan. KA-T's have been gaining popularity, and some are making some impressive #'s. The fastest I've seen thus far is a low 9 second 1/4 mile pass on a KA-T with very extensive mods, it is still daily driven though.

Anyways, if for some reason anyone has any 240sx questions, I'd be happy to answer them to the best of my abilities.

Here's the crappy motor we got in our post-1990 240sx, and this pic is from the last day that heavy iron piece of scrap metal was in my car.
