Dear all,

Been looking at some old car mags and it shows some pictures of what a future toyota supa and a mazda RX 7 would look like and that was back in 2004. Has there been any updates to this or is it still on the drawing board? At least with the new GTR it is confirmed and unfortuantely the s16 is long gone memory.....

Far as I know the supra was shitcanned because Toyota didnt think it had a place in the market and I suppose there is some fairly stiff opposition from people like Porsche, Nissan and they have Lexus vehicles which seem too fill that spot. (For right or wrong reasons but hey)
Can't see the RX7 being released again soon because the RX8 is a solid selling, popular vehicle and the 7 was always fairly slow too move large volumes.
GTR, think theres a write up on it in one of the local car rags about it, probably one of the most anticipated vehicles ever. Personally I'm not that chuffed with how it looks in pictures, probably much nicer in real life.
Silvia line is dead, weird decision but think it came down to a fact of $$$ and Renault not wanting too have too do R&D on another low volume, mid-market sports car... french c***s...
Lines have died and come back again after a few years so I wouldnt write it off.

Overall, not a real lot that is in contemporary or near future production that made me really get all that exited. Theres some good cars out there for sure but not a lot that gets me interested enough in them from either a technical-buggerising around with them or looks point of view.
Looks might sound kind of vain, but I just dont want too be driving another wind-tunnel Audi/VW clone or Falcadore or yank plastic trash which looks like everyone elses that gets slopped out lately.
Least the sil's and skylines, supra's and so on from the 90's just look 'tough' and they still go hard, still comparatively good value for money.

buy a porsche then.
the rx8 isn't meant to be a sports car. it's the jack of all trades that you buy when you've just had kids and the wife won't let you have anything with two doors and a turbocharger. it's the sporty looking car with the gutless engine that lets you keep your license, and look cool in traffic, while you take your 3yr old to kindy.

having said that,I may buy one in a few years and put a bridgy in it with open pipes...

I didn't say which ENGINE was going to be bridgeported... I reckon a 20b would fit in there without much drama. shame it's illegal to fit one.

No matter the power output it still doesnt do it for me. Just like the 350 I just dont like the shape. Its not sleek enough like the s13 to s15 to the rx 7

Not owner certifiable perhaps, but surely engineerable?
