gto's aint that bad of a car. people think of them as a heavy lump of crap that cant move but don't be suprised when you get owned by one. mk, i say go for it and get the gto, there should be more of them on the road and show these nissans what mistubishi has to offer apart form the evo.

Magna and Pajeros use the 6G72 SOHC, GTO/3000GT use the 6G72 DOHC :D, You might wanna think about the aftermarket parts, do some research on what parts are available for the 6G72 DOHC Motor, i own a 6A12 DOHC 2L V6 in a 1994 Mitsubishi Galant and the parts that are available for this motor and car is very limited, and if you want a specific part you cant just pop down to Autobahn/ SuperCheap to pick it up, has to be Imported from NZ or America,

I was thinking of trading my Galant in for a 3000GT but realised what a nightmare it would be to find parts for it,

have a hard think about it first ;)

Yes, to be honest I'd probably reserve judgement on the poor thing until I actually got a test drive in one but the parts issue always bothered me a bit because you dont want to be paying $80 for an oil filter or something stupid.
Tuning parts doesnt really bother me, I wouldnt be modifying it very much at all (well, maybe just suspension, exhaust and induction) and it would only be really used for long distance trips as I'm able too waddle around between work and home without a car and most anywhere else I need to get too on public transport.

The Sil I've got is uncomfortable for long trips due mostly to me being a cranky old guy with lots of back and leg pains that doesnt like his kidneys being mashed about too much and probably should get around too throwing some softer suspension in it :D
It's a 'day off' thrash weapon now, pity I dont have room for 2 cars where I am at the moment :(

my old man had some contact with one of these years ago. according to him its a real rocket even in standard trim.

factory is the typical jap super car. 13 second flat sort of 1/4 time and 0-100 in 5 odd. (from memory)

personaly i think mild mods on these would get exessive results, exhaust fmic ebc maybe piggy back. yet again like everyone else has said...... expect to pay a mechanic to do most of ur work, looking in that engine bay would make the most confident enthusist say eh screw this.... rather cramped.

worth a look :D
