Well if this isn't the car that will be getting released in '07 then Prestige Motorsport should be ashamed by sending out the email with CONFIRMED written all over it. :-?

against: it looks jus like any other site out there showing "FIRST NEW PICS OF insert car" .. images are photo'd or scanned straight off the magazine.. usually blurry

for: these websites are usually fandoms or minor ones.. on the contrary prestige's a pretty big and respected commercial company to post up such articles..

u choose.. lets hope they dont get it wrong

A few magazines rated the R34 against the porsche a while back. I can't remember which model it was. But the Line got its arse handed to it on a plate by several publications. From what I have heard it won't be happening again.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Porsche 996 GT2 (the halo 911) or the Porsche 996 Turbo S (their most powerful 4WD model) up against a R34 Z-Tune.

The "standard" GT-R (Nur or not) are still somewhat hobbled by a need to pretend that it only makes 280ps, and with tweaks to the engine management you could be making a fair amount more power. Apparently the OEM exhaust was more restrictive than necessary to make it quieter, since the reduction in power wasn't an issue.

The Z-Tune had no such pretense. Mind you, the two Porsches are a bit down on power in comparison to the Z-Tune, but at the same time they're a fair amount lighter too.

It would be Interesting to compare the GT500 with the 911 GT3 Carrera RS. Both worked over track-day style cars, both around the $280k mark.

So the next GT-R will be known as a "Nissan GT-R"? I hate when TV commentators call them that, sounds so stupid

Unfortunately general consensus is that the name Skyline will be dropped.

Before the demise of the R34 alot of effort went into getting it close to EURO 3 emmissions. Obviously this was in the early stages of EURO 3 compliance and typically "rude" fixes were being used such as restrictive exhausts etc
It never made it to the required levels though. There is more to getting a vehicle passed EURO 3 than exhaust emmissions.

Now days to comply with EURO 3 and still meet performance requirements manufacturers are starting to use "smart" systems like electronic steering and Far more complex valve timing systems.
No doubt this technology will filter through into GTR.

The 4.8 patrol is a perfect example of rude fixes.
4 oxy sensors
3 Cat convertors.
Deletion of sub fuel tank
Just to name a few of the larger changes made to "force" a vehicle through EURO 3 just so it can live out its intended production.

Not to mention the dropping of turbo engines...

600ps? The GTR is not a supercar.

Any car that has won bathurst is a supercar in my eyes 8)
But seriously, since those ueros have bought nissan they have killed the silvia off and seem to put all their efforts into that blue F1 car that wins all the time.
Maybe the new GTR will be a FWD stylish/economical french hatchback :P
I don't trust 'em. Anyone that would scrap the silvia would try and fuck with the GTR surely.
