thats devastating, looks like a nice car.

I love datto's but would only own one with an sr20 in it.
My brother rolled 3 1600's.

And why would you introduce yourself like that?

mine was a similar colour :P but a datsun 200b SSS Coupe...

Hey guys im pretty new to silvia nsw, but here goes anyway.
Im doin an SR converion into the ol datto 1600. The SR is N/A so i can drive it on my P's, but after that i plan to go turbo... But the N/A should be good for 200rwhp when im finished with it.
At the moment the SR has tomei cams, chipped ecu, ported and polished head, jasma extractors and a heavy duty button clutch.
The body doesnt have paint on it yet, but it is about half way there. All the interior is sorted out with SAAS race seats, retrimmed rear seats and door trims, and new carpet.
Well here are some pics of the beast so far:

Car number 1 (rusted as hell, but good suspension, drivetrain, interior etc.)

The interior just needs to be assembled and bolted together when i get the painted body shell back.
1600's make good project cars: easy to work with, the parts are interchangable with many other datsuns and nissans, and they are pretty common so parts are not that hard to find.
Plans for the SR are to go quad throttles off a gtir with big injectors and a custom plenum. Pistons will be enlarged, bigger valves, more porting, higher compression, bigger exhaust, aftermarket computer etc etc
It will be done in stages and dynoed every time so i know where im up to.
