Hi, i've been checking out these forums for a while, even tho i don't own a silvia.

but i'm working on the next best thing, which is a s13 front end conversion on my pintara trx.

for the moment, its s13 projectors with a extensively modified s15 bumper bar, but i'm looking into doing the full guard, bonnet and bar conversion (like a sileighty).

quick question does a sileighty front end conversion need to be engineered?

any comments or opinions would be great.

I doubt engineering will be an issue unless you start chopping the chasis or things like that to make the gaurds and other things fit. Although things like ride hight and wheel clearance still complies.

Its a good conversion. You are only one wide/ good set of wheels and a nicer front bar from having a very cool looking car IMO.

The current bar isnt bad but i think something like a Nismo bumper would suit the rear of the car a bit better.

jst an answer 2 to ur question about engineering once u hav the silvia front... the answer is yeh u hav 2 get it engineered... but i dnt fink it realli matters tho... i havnt got my sileighty engineered afta i got the silvia front on... mechanic was doen an inspection for my car... i asked him bout the engineer certificate. he told me that ur supposed 2 get 1, but not 2 worry about it... as long as rta doesnt kno ay?

haha, cheers for that mate, i don't think i'll bother with the engineering for now, and so long as i do a clean job (which it will be), i don't think the rta or coppers will recognise that its a one-of-a-kind facelift. for that matter, i don't think most mechanics will make much of a fuss. so long as for rego all the indicators and headlights are working properly, i've got nothing to worry about.

Why? You're just putting different panels on. They bolt straight up as well. Plus they are from the same chassis'd car. In relation to a sil80 or onevia.

sorry, no better pics... that was the only photos that got taken with that bar on. its been taken off now, because it was only a prototype.

next photos will be of the full guard conversion, so they should look quite good, and be more of them
