A few years ago when my Laser was stolen a few times and after that I started having a problem with my wipers. They jammed something metal in the ignition barrel and since then occasionally the wiper just start by themselves.

I replaced the wiper / headlight switch thinking it must have been in there but it still had the same issue. I also replaced the wiper motor thinking it might be a park issue in the motor.

Back when it first started happening I could turn off the engine and the wipers would stop be as time has gone by it is reluctant to turn off now.

Generally the wiper stay on when I have put the wipers on (any speed) or intermitent. If the car sits for a while with ignition off it sometimes turns them off. Sometimes the wipers start without the wipers being on at all.

I am thinking this might be a dodgy relay somewhere what do you think?

possibly dodgey relay caused from surges when the theives have hot-wired/destroyed the lock barrel.

Sounds like one of the fun tracing wires times to see if there is a short.

Though swapping a relay as a start will make life alot easier.

Out of interest when the wipers start do they go intermittant, mid or fast or is it inconsistant?

And do they only get stuck on on one speed or a bunch of speeds?

I was going to ask the same question.

That will lead you to a switch/stalk problem or a wiring issue.

It could also be a short at the wiper motor itself which is a commong issue with the N14 pulsar that essentially uses the same wiper motor

Doesn't matter if the switch is in the off position int position or 1st speed position they come on constant no 1 speed.

Risking I changed the wiper motor thinking it might have been a fault in the park mechenism on the wiper motor.
