Whooaah, I thought, "Wow, so many replies on a new topic....". Then I realised the original post date.

It's good though, since I've been thinking about a daily get-around car which is reliable and cost next to nothing.

What's the diff. b\t Pintara and the same era Skylines ?
I prefer the Pintara since the hatch can accomodate my Mt bike.

2L, 2.4L, 2L engines. I noticed some models are RWD, some are FWD.

How much do those R31's go for ? I've seen them around and thought, "Daym, 80's coming back." :P

An R31 Skyline has an RB30, whereas the R31 Pintara has a CA20
Other differences are purely cosmetic (different headlights/grille/taillights)

Im on my 2nd R31 now.. went from a Skyline GX wagon to a Silhouette 8) I love these things.. backwards compatible with newer silvias and skylines w00t

I was planning on making this a true drift pig, but ive decided the 180 can do all that stuff (circuit, drift, hillclimb, pimping down the maino), and the silo can be the comfy car.

S13 front suspension conversion is in the mix (S13 SR20DET brakes are almost twice the size of r31 stuff..), but instead of putting s13 coilovers in there, im just using stock struts and lowered springs. If the engine dies ill just put in an RB25DE; theyre almost as cheap as RB30Es lol

So, im guessing here, the RB30 is a 3L inline 6, and the CA20 is 2L IL4 ?

Skylines are RWD, and the Pintara is FWD ?

Since driving the S13, I prefer RWD, but as a daily workhorse, I dont think it matters when u're stuck in traffic.

Which one has more "wreakers" support ? U know, when things break down and u need a part from another doner car.

I''d like a wagon or hatchback for my Mt. bike :D

Thank you for the info, is there a website\forum where I can learn more ?

R31 pinny is rwd too. the newer (gayer) pinnies are fwd. Oh who am i kidding, all pinnies are gay. Go skyline power!

R31 Skyline wagon in manual = your friend :D stick in a lock diff and get some short, hard springs and youve got yourself a practical drift car (throw the mountain bike in the back then slide to the mountains :P )

www.r31skylineclub.com ooh baby ooh baby

You can buy a spare R31 for $500, so dont worry about buying a spare PART, buy a spare CAR

jeez i love 31s.. Id like to sell the 180 and get a 2door 31 :D (seriously..)

or sell the 180 and get another aus spec 4door, then give it the RB30DET treatment, with s13 suspension, coilovers and a minispool... and keep my silo as the comfy cruisy car

yeah baby.. cant have enough 31s

weeeee look at the pretty lights! *moves hands around slowly*

Ever drifted a 31? They rock :D

My 180 is constantly busted (and constantly costs a shitload to fix), so when I jump into the 31 and it just works, and goes sideways on demand, its GREAT - plus if anything breaks on the 31 I can bodgy it up myself, or if its bad enough, buy another 31 for the price of a new FMIC :P

i swear i've had a mate try and justify going to brothels using the same explanation between a girlfriend and a hooker (gf being the 180, hooker being the R31)..

one is constantly broken and costs alot, the other one is cheap, easy and on demand! 8) 8)

ROFL !

Yea, some girls are high maintenance, whereas some girls are not as stunning, but lots more fun. Better personality too, and that's goes a long way when u have to listen to them [snooooorre].

Like gf's, it's nice to have a few cars\bikes for different occations.

Especially when one breaks down\out of order.

Disclaimer: No offense to the ladies reading this forum, u know me..... I'm just playin'
