the head gaskets mite aswell not been there that was leaking that much

anyway the bank has kindly lent me some more $$$$$ and now its geting a $9000 rebuild amongst other things

should be back in a few months mansweto seem to think that it should skip 12s and 11s and do a 10 on its first pass

now that would make me blo my load

Yeah cool... well haven't u already got a C4 in the car??? if you're going for some ridiculous power you might want to start looking at getting a power glide... I know you're going to be losing some power transfering the power to the ground but hey it's going to save you going through small C4's... I'm sure by now u realise or have noticed that there are 2 cortina owners which are my mates posted on my site... the have 3 corties between them selves on and off the road... How long until you reckon your machine will be back??? Cortina's are for ever not going because of problems... LOL... good luck...

powerglide is an awesome system and easy to drive.
my cousin had one in his ford 351 and even though that thing was as heavy like a tank, it sill managed a 11.7 pass @ WSID. He was putting out about 350 horses at the time too.

Is it the 351 that happened to be out at the track with you on the 15th??? The Gold XR??? or are you talking about another??? All automatics are easy to drive... U just smack it into gear with out stepping on the clutch, how much easier could it be... LOL...

Go find yourself a decent C4 that's still working... as long as u have the housing etc... and then get it re-built and manualised for no more then $2500... that's saving a few hundred dollars off your $4100... The white one is streetable... the blue one is not as it's full chassis... It's all fibreglass on all removable panels... the car has been gutted and ready only for the Drag Strip... It will hopefully be completed by the August SuperCruise if we're lucky... The motor should be good for 8's once all is sorted out... so what turbo is going to push the car to an 8 second pass??? And how much laughter is there going to be when you have a turbo'd V8 cortina down at the Nats... LOL... Once you slap on a big mighty turbo with no Gas and pass in the 8's we'll consider it... You can lead the way mate... :-)

no my cousins 351 had the plates "CLEVO" he did that pass about 2-3 yrs ago now. The car has since that run, been stripped, tubbed, and roll caged. He hasnt spent any money on it in the last few yrs or so, just lost a bit of interest, but last time i was talking to him he said he was getting teh bottom end redone again with stronger parts, bigger bore etc. he wants 600rwhp out of it. I remember him taking me for a spin in it once and with the powerglide did the most massive standing burnout in 2nd gear. the thing was loud as hell too! i was seriously contemplating buying it off him and finishing it off if he doesnt want to do anything with it anymore. The engine just needs to be built and put in.
