Hrm, sucks to be a 350z owner.
I'll have a talk to my mate who works at a Nissan dealership, see if he's heard of the problem over here or not.
Also, does it annoy anyone else how Americans say 'nee-san'?

Nissan sure does have the problem over here, but not to the degree that news report is making out.

They do have monstrous tire noise but its really the actual tire rather than the so called unsatisfactory suspension. Ever ridden in a 350? I think the suspesion is pretty awesome straight out of the box. Put a different set of tires on them and the noise magically disappers and wont come back if the allignment is fixed as well.

The tire wear is allignment realated and easily fixed. There is a fix like the report states and it has fixed every instance that I have been involved in.

Unfortunately, no.
I'd love to drive one, too, but I think that's even less likely to happen...

For those of us not wanting to install the ActiveX control, you can just visit here:

Australians have also reported the tyre feathering issue, and most of the dealers denied that it was happening and said it was made up....until the Japanese and American TSBs were printed out and taken with them. Some have had their tyres replaced and the alignment done.

From my understanding, all Nissan has been doing is setting front toe to 0 and rotating the tyres.

As for the tyre noise, the RE040s are quite noisy and quite a few locals have noticed that the tyre roar disappears when they switch to another tyre.

Pretty much. except on the track spec cars you cant rotate tires so noramally they get replaced

Why can't you rotate them?

The rears are 245's and the fronts are 225's on the track models.
You can swap them side to side but they are noramlly to far gone for it to matter.

The Touring tyres are 225 front / 235 rear, which is also not swappable.

Just trying to work out why the Track spec is the only one they're not rotatable on.

do they run directional tyres no the track and not on the touring?
That would stop you from swapping them left to right.

Touring and Track both use Bridgestone Potenza RE040's. The only difference is the size.

are they directional?

Maybe they just rotate them on the original wheel :P

Think they are. The pattern's not that obviously directional at a glance, but there are some horizontal cuts that are slightly angled
