This is enough to propel the FQ400 from 0-60 mph in an incredible 3.5 seconds and on to a top speed in excess of 175 mph. It is a performance that even some of the world’s most exotic supercars struggle to match. The £330,000 Porsche Carrera GT, for example, requires 3.9 seconds to sprint from 0-62 mph, while the ultra-exclusive Pagani Zonda needs 3.7 seconds. The BMW M3 – hitherto the benchmark ‘everyday supercar’ – takes 5.3 seconds to achieve the same feat.

That says it all.Plus the fact it would totally annihilate those cars through the twisties.

Well, actually, no. The Carrera GT and the Pagani Zonda are both RWD only. However they develop 612bhp and 555bhp (C12 7.3) respectively. So they're hitting the mid-to-high 3's without an AWD launch. Which means that after the initial launch, they're reeling in the EVO. I'd like to see standing 60km->200km times :) I think the greater power and better delivery of the big-cube engines would probably destroy the EVO on a high speed / rolling open road run.

The other thing is that supercars aren't built for "the twisties". I would hate to wrestle a car as big as a Zonda or Carrera GT up the Pacific Highway or through the National Park.

I'm just imagining a car with such a long wheelbase, wide track, and fat tyres trying to negotiate the run up from Mooney Mooney to Mt White, let alone that tight bit between the Calga Interchange and Sommersby.

Put them on the track, though, and it'd be another story. With the fat torque curve and throttle response that only a hard-tuned NA car can provide, attached to a chassis and suspension that was purpose built to go quickly and not be practical or comfortable, it would be far closer.

It'd be nice if Nismo churned out a successor to the 270R.

Since the S15 isn't in production anymore, they can do the same thing they've done with the new R34 Z-Tunes and just buy back S15s in good nick and modify them.

The Silvia and SR20DET deserve the same honour and sendoff as the Skyline GT-R and RB26DETT.

yes i second that like they r only making 20 of the r34, i mean especially in oz, there are more s14/s15's than r34, so i reckon nismo should give the silvia some credit and go tune a limited edition 200sx, otherwise there will only be 350z to choose from as a sports car in the nissan range, i mean if there is sti's and evo's, why can't there be nismo 200sx as they are all 4 cylinder!

:D Top gear was testing the FQs and the FQ400 is the worse to buy.

they were comparing between FQ400 and a 1.6L wagon on top gear, FQ400 on 1.7mile runway and never caught it. Why? Turbo Lag

well they did say it was a rolling start from 30 kms / miles ? on TOP GEAR, as in 5th or 6th gear, that's just to show that you have to be in the right gear and the right time to get any power out of it. They did say the FQ400 is the worse to buy but they did recommend the FQ320? or some lesser powered evo8

Yeah, but the FQ400 is the best buy not if you're after a street or track weapon, but a carpark weapon. Not many cars will beat the FQ400 at Parramatta Maccas or Liverpool KK's.

Only my habib's CRX with the 18" chromies, yellow paintjob and naked chick airbrushed on the bonnet is the only thing that comes close.

As befits its status as an official Mitsubishi Motors UK product, the FQ400 has undergone extensive reliability testing and is supplied with a three years/36,000 mile manufacturer’s warranty. This exciting flagship can be ordered now from approved Mitsubishi Ralliart dealers in the UK.

it still is unfair to compare at top gear, it does show turbo lag but then again they do have different gear ratios, it wasn't designed to be at such low RPM and it does run low compression compared to the NA?
anyway the FQ400 might not be the BEST in value but sure does make its presence and holds its own reputation, AND 3 year warranty as scathing has mentioned....mmmmmm.......FQ400

I was referring to the R34 you compared it to, not the FQ400. I am fully aware that the Lancer has a full Mitsubishi UK warranty, which has been one of the reasons I said it was a buy worth considering.
