Hi guys, as my name suggest, I like Fords.
Not really for they're V6's/V8's but mostly for their rally cars such as the Escort Cosworth RS and the Focus Cosworth RS.

I recently bought a 92 Laser TX3 4 x 4 Turbo with a boost tap, 2 1/4 exhuast and air filter. I wanna improve the performance but have limited funds, what mods would you guys suggest i get to start off this quest keeping in mind i have a limited budget.

A larger Turbo would be the best way to go or a 3 inch mandrel bent exhuast sytem would be a good starting point

Hey some of us are still full time students. Anyway a 3inch on a turbo should be fine as far as i know? Anyone shed light but i thought you could go pretty big if u had turbo because it provides the back pressure for the engine unlike N/A's which need a certain size exhaust?? Is this correct?

Also maybe some research into a good cold air intake maybe worth a shot, wouldnt be too expensive i would think? Plus may give a little extra power if u got pod anyway cause they love to suk heat espiacally on idle. :o

A second hand bigger FMIC maybe, espiacally if u dont have one already? :)
Lots of options hope it helps
Pete

Save your money for the gearboxes you will go through, these things are notorious for that.

Second hand FMIC they can go pretty cheap. Saw an Evo 3 one for $500. If you are lucky you could score an S15 turbo pretty cheap, then you'd probably want a new fuel pump and reg.

Thanks for the feedback guys, i think a fuel pump and regulator should be my first steps.

And yes the gearboxes on these cars are so shit, i have reciepts showing the gearbox was changed twice in one year and recently i spent $800 to replace the bearings and seals of the current gearbox.

Dude don't bag Ford

My car isn't really a Ford anyway, the engine was built by Mazda.

save your money and go out and by a cosworth motor for it for about $20000 you can get a full race engine and gear box big $$$$ to get installed and approved but you will beat any wrx i saw one tx3 with this and it was doing 11 second quarters in stock form with street tyres
