my thoughts are:

heavy

expensive for parts / complex drive train

amazingly laggy for a stock car

sloppy handling

Car: None of your fucking business
It is in direct competion with Liberty RS Turbo and Galant VR4 of the same era.
I'm assuming you are refering to the ST185 models of the early 90's??
they tend to go for as low as $10K to up to about $15K

Problem is that they are fairly heavy and have a really TALL first gear.
which means that they are slow off the mark, hence the reason for the feeling of LAG.

Parts are expensive in comparison to the liberty and vr4.
and that model 3sgte (first gen) have head gasket problems when modified which were recitified in the later models.

the lag issue can be fixed and 1/4 mile time can be reduced by like a whole second with a replacement of the gearbox to a ST205 model gearbox (last gen of the GT4)

honestly, out of the 3 (RS, VR4, GT4)
for looks, I'd take the RS.
for potential and strength, I'd take the VR4
and I'd leave the GT4 to it's current owner.

I'm sure the gang at toymods.org will tell you different though..

My pick of those three would be the VR4 hands down....
I beat a gt4 (tthe second gen I believe?? Pop up headlights, bonnet scoop....) in my stock, fwd ca20e powered pinny once ;)

Maybe it only looked like a gt-four.

You know, like those fake evo's.

That certainly doesn't help, but the main coause of the lag is that the CT26 is a huge, and poorly matched turbo for a 2L engine.
It just doesn't make boost till too late, and is not very responsive once on boost. It's a very old school turbo setup in comparison to any of the Nissan ones.
